We had an alcohol free wedding and don't regret it for a minute. Some people in my family drink but there was enough punch, tea, juice, soda, coffee and water there that they weren't concerned with it. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Most of my family doesn't drink and the ones who do don't drink as much as they used to. If we had alcohol they would have had some but it wasn't really missed. We wanted a simple, formal reception and didn't have dancing or any rowdiness. We wanted a nice dinner instead of a huge party. I don't think it's odd not to have alcohol at a wedding. I've been to several weddings where they had no alcohol but they had dancing and it was fun. No one seemed to miss the booze. Talk to your fiance about it. See what he thinks. Your friends and family should come to see you get married, not to drink and party all night. There seems to be a big mentality that you just have to have alcohol but I don't think that's true. Be honest with your fiance and see what he thinks. If his family and your friends aren't going to like that you don't have alcohol then that's too bad. You have to make the call on this one but I don't see anything wrong if you decide not to have alcohol.

It is used in making drinks is alcohol free but it is used as a mixture. So if someone says it alcohol free it is true but if you did not see it being made yourself be careful because some of the alcohol out there of orderless such as volka which can be mixed with grenadine. Then it becomes alcoholic.

Grenadine is typically non-alcoholic, but some versions do have a small amount of alcohol. I have a bottle of the alcoholic stuff in my closet - I forget the percentage but it's pretty insignificant, less than beer, and you of course don't drink that much. It would be impossible to feel any effects from it, in my opinion, but I wouldn't serve it to alcoholics, the religious, etc. If you're really worried, you should check the label.
(Incidentally, it's actually supposed to taste of pomegranate, not cherries.)

Here's some information on grenadine:

As far as I know, it's made out of pomegranate. I use it to make the drink called tequila sunrise.

It is not alcoholic and can be purchased in most grocery stores. It is originally made from red currants and pomegranates but is now made with other fruits, such as blackberries etc..

No, it's a flavoring often added to alcohol. You can also add it to Pepsi though, and make cherry pepsi. Completely non alcoholic.
