You have guessed right. They hinge CAN grow into your skin. Tisk tisk on their part for telling you you could chance it the next day. And tisk tisk on you for not doing your research before you had a piercing done! If it truly is embedded in there the swelling may not go down any time soon because you are at risk of infection. Many time the artist wont even use a stud or nose bone because its hard to clean properly which can lead to a serious infection, and it can grow into your flesh making it very painful to take out! You make need to have the stud cut off. How do you even know its the right metal? If its bendable I high doubt its stainless steel. I suggest you report the business for giving you such dangerous information. Id go to the doc and have him cut the darned thing off. let it heal and start over with a NEW 'professional'. Look at portfolios, look to see have many awards the shop has one. Ask for certificates. Your health and well being always comes first.

Nose screws are the preferable nostril piercing jewelry. However, screws can still poke you just as hard as a stud. I suggest leaving it alone and waiting until it heals. Obviously, just be careful not to hit your nose. When its healed, get a pop in stud that is just slightly longer than flush with the inside of your nose. Hot Topic sells them. i love em.

They do that to compensate the swelling. Usually you have to leave it in till it heals a little. If you try and take it out now it will really hurt to put a new on in. Just wait a few more days and change it. Try to stand it as long as possible.

I wouldn't recommend taking it out to switch it because I took mine out before the six weeks and it was almost impossible to put another one in and it was soooo painful. If you are really concerned I'd say stop by a different piercing place and ask them to take a look.

Yes, its only short term - it should be replaced with a much shorter one within weeks.
(remembers being totally horrified when seeing daughters nose piercing for the first time!)

yeah, it sounds rignt, give it time to heal (6 - 8 weeks) then change it for a curved one thats not so obvious. Don't worry tho . it will be OK just and you properly notice it more than others

Well, the metal should not be SUPER long and if it is you should go back to the person who peirced it for you and have them take a look at it.
