He has an ear hematoma. Which means blood and fluid is collecting between the skin and cartilage of the pinna of his ear. This is fairly common in floppy eared dogs, it can be caused by severe ear infections, or some kind of trauma (sometimes from shaking their head too hard). This is uncomfortable to the dogs, and needs to be surgically repaired by a veterinarian.

It is a hematoma, and he need to see a vet for it!!!!!!! It happens as the result of shaking the head a lot, due to an ear infection usually. Sometimes they can drain it, but it usually comes back, so surgery is often required...along with treating the cause...ear infection.
If left untreated, it is painful and causes the ear to become very deformed.
See a vet!!

(Not a Black St. Bernard) is absolutely right! It's a Hematoma. It is very painful for your pup and will most likely get worse. It's caused from a ruptured blood vessel from the dogs shaking it's head. Very dangerous too. I've heard of dogs bleeding out from in if it is severe enough. If you don't get him to the vet soon it will bust open and there will be blood every where!

It is a hematoma. It needs to be drained by the vet. Depending on the size of it they may just drain it or they may "button" it to keep it from coming back. They are cause by trauma or an infection. If left untreated they can seriously damage the ear.
