depends on how many people are at mass.... i never really "time" this part of the mass. i don't time the mass period but if i had to guess based upon the music -- 10-15 minutes.

How long distribution of the sacrament takes not only depends on how many people there are but the method used as well.
The slowest method is by "tables". That is where a group of people come to the communion rail and leave as a group.
A faster method is "continuous communion" where after a person is communed, they leave the chancel and another person takes their place.
A slighter faster method is where the priest stays still and the person moves to a second person to receive the wine.
Of course everything moves faster when there are more stations to distribute the sacrament.
Oh yes, and in answer to your question, it takes about 10 minutes at my church. We use the slowest method. No one is in a hurry. lol

I've been to some where it took 15 to 20 minutes, and they weren't the largest ones. That's why at the larger churches, they split it up between the priest and deacons to speed it along.

Well, Christians (aka Protestants) tend to use a different system of distributing Holy Communion and, because of that system, do it a little faster.

Not that I am timing it and don't understand why you care. but on week days it takes 3-4 minutes and on week ends it takes 10-13 minutes
Reason I happen to know is because I sing the Eucharistic songs and they are about 5-6 minutes long on average and there are alway about 2 of them on week end and on weekdays we are lucky if we finish one.
