I hate it when our neighbor's kids do that. I had just had major surgery and couldn't get around well. The kids were always ringing then running. Because I was expecting people (the ones who were bringing in meals and coming to do my housework until I was well enough) I had to get up and go to the door every time. It caused problems for me to get up that often and my recovery was set back quite a bit. If I'd known whose kids they were, I'd have had a talk with the parents. Another person I know of had to deal with such pranksters while trying to cope with a death in the family. Definitely not funny.
Be considerate and don't do this. You may think it's funny, but it could be a real problem or intrusion for the ones on the other side of the door.

It's not only bad but it's rude. I have had that happen to me and I guess the person who rang my doorbell had nothing better to do.

It is probably bad for the perosn who answer the doorbell, but I think it is hilarious when you ring the doorbell. I wouldn't really say it was something bad if it was someone you knew.

ahhhhhh ding dong ditch, what memoies. reminds me of the little office by my house, they had a long narrow doorbell that when u pushed it it rang as long as the button was pushed. we use to use the pop tops from our soda cans and jam the bell, run to the tree area across the street and laugh till we hurt. but to answer ur question , no its a prank, morally yes its wrong, from a 48 yr old to a teenager I say go for it. have safe fun while u can. just dont get caught, it will stop you from laughing real quick.

Yes its bad because you have no idea what the person inside the house is doing, you could have taken them away from something important.

i dont find it bad i find it funny. very funny.
everyone does that on halloween.
me and my friends do it all the time.
we once left rolled up mud (pretend poop) in people's mailboxes. it was hilarious! u should try it sometime.

It's not bad .. it's good ! It gives the person something to do .. they have to get up and walk to the door. It makes them think and wonder who was there. It's very positive. Good Luck ! :)
