Your enlistment agreement is a legally binding document that basically compels you legally to serve with the Marines until your enlistment period is finished. This is probably at least a two year period, or more, depending on what you agreed to when you signed up. Leaving the Marines would make you a deserter, and you would face potential criminal charges, and certainly a dishonorable discharge from the service. There aren't too many legitimate ways out of the military unless you are indeed injured and can't serve, have a mental illness that prevents serving, or something along those lines.
There may be a way for you to exit the Marines, but you would certainly have to look at your contractual agreement and figure out what those are, at a certain point however, you are essentially locked into the deal. You may want to see if you can simply get another assignment if that is your main concern, but again you may not have very much choice in the deal. Good luck. Military service is an honorable duty, but obviously a difficult time for a lot of the servicemen and women involved. Hope you can figure something out.

Three and a half years ago, my husband was sworn into the marines. he did this before he had his GED and he was 18. He never got his GED so they gave him a general discharge and told him he'd never be let back into the military. 2 years later he got his GED and then less than a year later he joined the army, no problems.

how about you suck it the **** up and you do your time. I was in the marines for four years. Tell me why I could handle it and every time i looked around me someone was trying to squek their way out. Its lame and pathetic. There are many worse things than serving your country... which you chose to do in the first place. You signed that contract and gave them 4 years of your life plus the 4 years of inactive time. You could work at McDonalds and flip burgers.. thats cool.. or maybe you want to live in Africa and be in poverty.. i dunno but You need to make it work for you. Otherwise you are sorry.

Other than no longer being physically fit to serve, there is always DEATH, but I doubt this is an option for you, so just server your time and then get out with your honorable discharge.

you don't deserve to be in my corps if all you want to do is get out, just do some drugs and pop on a piss test, that will get you out in a hurry. I hope you did enjoy your time in, but if it's that bad then i'm sorry for you.

why would you choose the marine corps, all they do is kill. if you are tryin to get out, that sucks for you because once your a marine, there is no getting out. if you wanted to get out you should have chosen the punk *** air force.
