I hate to beat a dead horse, but can someone explain this to me?

Servent Leader, some intellegent people require evidence, in which you have none to offer.

I don't know...that sort of kills the word "intelligent" to me.
Maybe they have intelligence in some areas, but no truly intelligent person who has been exposed to science and history believes that dinosaurs and humans lived at the same time. It just doesn't seem possible to me.

The religious of all kinds of faiths believe all kinds of weird things. Roman Catholics are supposed to believe that the wine and wafer are actually the literal body and blood of Jesus, so taking communion is actually an act of ritual cannibalism. If you try to tell this to them, most of them get very offended, but that is what it is. "Transubstantiation" is the name for this supposed transformation. It isn't real of course and is really meant to be symbolic, but time has a way of distorting the original message.

>Are you as shocked at I am at how many intelligent Christians believe mankind co-existed with dinosaurs?

Well, the intelligent ones and the ones who believe people and dinosaurs coexisted usually aren't the same ones. But still, yes, it is rather horrifying, isn't it?

Who says they didn't? Scientist? They aren't always right.... Who says that the deep sea Dinosaurs don't still exist(that is my sister's theory not mine) Who says that those time lines are correct. I believe that there have been enough "living fossils" and Anomalies and other proof(i.e. the "missing link "between fish and reptiles proved to be true fish) that Science may need to re-look at their theories and time lines. Now this Idea of Dinosaurs living with Humans is rather scary but it isn't impossible.

Must've been all those dinosaur/caveman movies I watched as a kid on Saturday afternoons in a time far, far away, and in another galaxy called "childhood". Blame Hollywood.

I must disagree with your premise that "intelligent Christians" believe such rubbish. That belief alone is more than enough evidence for me to doubt their intelligence.

No. I grew up with many missionaries whom were also medical doctors. All of which were extremely intelligent and believed in that as will as I.D.

I'm used to it. I have nothing for or against their belief. It may be right it may be wrong. But until we find out I'll respect them for holding on to their 'truth.' - For that is what they believe it is.
And who am *I* to say it isn't?

--Buddhist.

Why would I be shocked? It's the only way dinosaurs would fit into their theology. I guess, I can't blame them for trying to preserve something that they are so passionate about (as you are trying to preserve this question apparently ;) )

When I was a Christian, I believed that clap-trap. Thankfully, I learned to check out the evidence for myself and use reason to decide what the truth is.

What's not to belive? Might I point out the documentary film Flintstones, which clearly shows this...not only co-existence, but co-habitation.

So there.
