Do you know what it took to even ask the question? You have a physical machine called a body that is able to use its mind to ponder the question, relay visual information from a physical world of comparable low-tech computers through the optic nerve, into the brain, with the mind to comprehend the ramifications, then transfer that thought process to an incredibly complex systems of nerves, tendons, and touch to the fingers to type the letters. This then communicates a question of the soul. The soul is something that science cannot a.) explain and b.) create. It can only mimic with unsatisfactory results. That soul is concerned for the existence of an eternal destiny beyond time and space--that there is a world beyond the physical world we see in the here and now. You are an incredible creation who has been given the free will choice to believe, or not believe. A being that can love, write poetry, paint or play works of incredible complexity and beauty. To smell, and taste, enjoy. So, like you, I set out on a path to find my Creator. It is obvious that He exists, but is He personal or an impersonal force? My answer came through the study of prophecy in the Bible. Like the DNA strand and life itself, it was hard to dispute the evidence. Now with the realization of the truth of the Bible, God made it clear that He was not only a personal God, but One who wanted to know ME, and that He knew everything about me--even the number of every hair on my head.

Look in the mirror, and just contemplate your eye. Imagine the complexity of color, shape, 3D rendering, lens focus, iris light adjustment, low light adaptation, then contemplating with a "soul?" the life that is staring back at you. That you are a living being that is worth so much to God, He would send His only Son to die so that you may live with Him forever.

This is the God I worship. The God Who said created all of this. The God revealed in the pages of the Bible. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob--The Almighty.

JW - If you had any knowledge regarding Islam and Allah, you would not say that. Else they would embrace Jews as fellow brothers, and not make it clear that Allah has NO son. Do your homework before you post such opinions.

i was 48 when I got saved, totally liberal minded, couldn't stand born again Christians, esp. being raised the way I had,(by an atheist) but I had become an alcoholic, ready to die, hated my husband, the I just kept crying out, if there is a God, do something! He did. He put a believer in my life, who was very kind, would answer questions with love, and left the door open for me to come to church with her. I did, and I thought they were all nuts, jumping, screaming, speaking in tongues, etc. But there was something about the way the Pastor preached, as if he had x-ray eyes, and knew everything about my life - I didn't know it at the time, but it was because he was full of the Holy Spirit, and that means God was speaking thru him. Anyway, since that day, l0 years ago, everything has changed. I will definetly never be perfect. I still smoke and drink on occasion, but the compulsion is gone. Also my marriage is great, my children are great, and more than anything I have been healed of several physical things - arthritis, sinus problems, eye twitching, stomach problems, and a torn ligament in my knee that my dr. said I'd have to have an operation for. The specialist couldn't explain it, but I could. My holy spirit filled Pastor laid hands on me and prayed. It works. Prayer works. But it's not a matter of just going to church, or any church, you have to find a church that preaches the true word of God and teaches how to apply it to your life. Otherwise it's not God, it's just religion, and religion is a bunch of crap!!!

Because a single monotheistic entity with semi-similar concepts has shown up in most faiths.

The shared beliefs of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity really don't need to be gone into here, I think we all know the connection between them, and the fact it's the same God.

Now, Zoroastrianism. Cyrus the Great, Persian King, was a Zoroastrian, and was also the one who freed the Jews upon his conquest of Babylon. Also, he is mentioned as a king anointed by God. Yes, he did release other religions, but the only one of those religions to survive was Judaism, the other Monotheistic religion.
Also, Sikhism.
Monotheistic, 5th largest religion.
Bahai, same God as the Abrahamic religion.

In other words, I'm saying that their's ample evidence that the Abrahamic God is the one God, the only thing left to be argued is interpretation of God's will.

(No offense meant to Hindus and other Polytheists)
At least, that's how I see it.

By definition, there can only be one supreme creator G*D.
What everyone worships, depends on revelation received.
So I can only share with you what I have understood myself.
We start with the Jewish scriptures as the clearest story.
This shows the history of Salvation through a Messiah.
I accept Jesus as being the incarnation of that Messiah.
He in turn, passed on his relationship with the Father.
And left us each the gift of the Holy Spirit.
This teaching is protected & passed down from the Apostles.
It resides with greatest fulness in The Holy Catholic Church.
That comprises both Western Catholic & Eastern Orthodox,
& several separated Protestant Churches.

the God I believe in is the real God and is pointed to with a lot of pieces of language; "God," "Source," "Tao," "Universal Life Force," or whatever. What WE call it doesn't matter because we do not define it. God is Mystery but has revealed himself/herself as a Love beyond human love. I choose to leave God at that and move on to explore God's energies and spiritual laws. God is transcendent and untouchable.

I would tell you my God is the true God by showing you that I love Him with my whole heart and with my whole soul and with my whole mind. And showing you that I love my neighbours as myself. I can do no more than this, the rest you must discover for yourself.
May you be at peace with yourself.

There basically are only a couple of gods

Really, the Jews, Christians, and Islam have the same god - but different beliefs beyond that - such as was Jesus really his son.

Then you have the buhdists. and I can't say much about that.

But one way of looking at it is this... the Christians offer an afterlife of either eternal bliss in heaven, or eternal misery in hell. If you believe in Him, and then it turns out there is no god, what have you lost? Maybe a few fun times in your younger years. But if he exists and you DON'T believe, that eternal misery really would be hell, now wouldn't it.

That doesn't prove it, but it makes you think about what you want to do.

I do not believe anyone really owns a God. God is not ours, we are God's. The search for truth about God is a personal one that we all take in our lives. How would I tell you that my understanding of God is more accurate than yours? I wouldn't. I would tell you my understanding of God, and hope that you would search it out for yourself.

I could tell you that, and you would not believe me, so I would only ask that you find in your heart what you believe, and hope it was the right God to beleive in. For me it would be the one I was taught about. For you it will be what you deside. Good luck
