i live with my mom and she isnt a drinker at all, but got a bottle of cheap champagne as a gift and hasnt opened it for a few years, however, if i moved it from its spot, she would know that i moved it. Soooo, is there any possible way i could open the bottle, drink however much, fill it back up with water, then close the top so it looks like it was never opened? it has thin gold foil on the top which looks like it would be hard to replace but maybe there is a way?

Not with champagne... how about growing up and going and buying your own?

Or even better yet, be honest with your mother and ask if you can have some?

Hahahaha...not laughing at you, just the fact that you used yahoo answers! How long you been eyeballin that bottle o cham-pag-ne? Take it, pour out most of it into another container, fill with water, then place back in desidnated spot. Here is where you get to be sneaky-sneaky. As soon as possible, while your mother is at home, "accidently" knock the bottle off where it will break thus destroying the evidence. Appologize to your mother for breaking it, offer to clean it up yourself. Then enjoy!

For the record I came up with this all of a sudden and hope you enjoy it resposibly....even if your underage.

no way. the packaging keeps severe bubbles in, and after opening, the cork never fits again, or much else. if you are too young to buy your own bottle of cheap champagne, you're too young to drink hers anyway. sorry.

Dirty Mutt:

How do you account for the lack of alcohol smell during clean up?

No. The foil shreds, and once you pop the cork, it's pretty much impossible to put it back in.

You can't. The cork widens when it is popped and you would have to remove the foil. It would be really obvious if you did it>

Don't even think of it. You will get caught. If you are not old enough to buy it on your own, stupid idea.
