In my opinion, of all candidates for presidency, Romney has the least amount of negative baggage. If religion is his only fault...it would be a shallow decision to judge him based on his religion.
For any Christian to judge him based on religion means they can easily judge anything else as well, and THAT is against their religion.
I see hypocrisy in the Christian who, when it comes to the, "judge not, lest be judged," rule - uses it to work only when it's convenient for their cause.

According to the bible Satan is the ruler of this world.
2 Corinthians 4:4 & 1 John 5:19.
Based on those scriptures would not a vote for anyone be a vote for Satan ?

There are people who sense they have the the main suitable option to define what doctrines somebody ought to have self belief as a fashion to be seen a Christian, and all people who don't in fantastic condition the mildew are demonized with words like "cult". individually, I evaluate it uncomplicated uncomplicated non secular bigotry. Will there ever be a Mormon president? i've got self belief that if a Mormon is chosen by ability of the GOP to run against the democrats, the democrats are going to coach how deep there intolerance and hypocrisy quite is going by ability of bringing out each slightest unfavourable ingredient they might locate on the Mormons. You theory the final election improve into nasty? You ain't seen no longer something yet. it might desire to be adequate to maintain the Mormon out of the Whitehouse. it is going to additionally exhibit Mormonism to the international often, and that i anticipate a extensive boost in club because of this. An atheist as president? it is likewise complicated to declare - if the atheist is a Democrat, then he has a stable risk of having elected. An atheist Republican would not do besides because of the fact returned the liberals will prepare their hypocritical double customary by ability of attacking the ideals, or lack thereof, of the atheist Republican.

I am a Christian and American. I am not really sure what the hell Mormonism really is even though i have talked to their people often. I doubt voting for a Mormon = voting for Satan. However i have started thinking voting Republican = voting for Satan. I do not see lying to start an oil war or excessive application of the death penalty or opposition to universal health care or failure to raise the wages of working Americans as the proper way to follow Christ or to be leaders of a democratic nation.

There is a point to be made that a high profile Mormon could raise the profile of this false religion; however, the same people also call Roman Catholicism a false religion or a cult.
The point is, Christians who think like this have two problems: 1. They believe that their actions send people to hell rather than people already deserve hell and except God have mercy on them and draw them to himself, that's where they are going anyway. 2. They fail to understand that God is sovereign and that His will may be the opposite of what we think it should be.
Fact is, God has used many people to bring honor to himself. Pharaoh in Egypt. Rahab a prostitute. Fortunately God is not as small as we act like He is.

This is a toughy, because I am no fan of the LDS. I've had too many bad dealings with the LDS church.
However, Mitt Romney's religion does not affect my vote, any more than Mike Huckabee (not a fan of the SBC either)

I don't have a problem with Mitt Romney becoming President, should he win the election. Mormons are no longer the weird, fringe group that they were in the 19th century; they have become mainstreamed.
I would, however, have a big problem with Mike Huckabee winning, as he is a clergyman.

I think we need to seriously consider how one's religious beliefs if elected to public office will affect the religious beliefs of others. Romney is not Satan, he is a human like the rest of us, able to make choices. Yet, I do believe that his church teaches some very wrong doctrines. I'm unable to vote for anyone. If anything, I would vote against any strong platforms that I strongly disagree with. Unfortunately, we are not in a theocracy, but a democracy--meaning man--not God--rules.

So "Jesus Freak"...Obama/Clinton/anybody who doesn't agree with you is an atheist?
I guess we need somebody to sit in judgment. Tell us, what makes you so qualified to be that judge?
I for one worry less about a person's church than how they live out the faith they claim. We have "Christian" leaders who do NOT feed the hungry, who allow sick children to suffer, who wage war on the innocent all the while claiming to be Pro-Life. Your Jesus said that by their fruits we would know them. Their fruits just don't seem to be what one expects from a follower of Jesus.

A vote for a Baptist preacher is a vote for Satan, and I believe Jesus would agree.
