Lowering inhibitions and breaking down your ego show how much the human being actually is like an animal only wanting to satisfy themselves. It is fun to get in tune with your innerself. Also, where else can the poor man speak with the millionaire more openly than a bar? Not church because both may be trying to "out-christian" the other and not be completely truthful. Get them drunk together and they might tell each other their life stories and BOTH be impressed....and hopefully will remember the next day. Did I mention that it can create some of the funnest memories in your life? Of coarse it can also create the worst as well, but that wouldn't answer your question of why ppl "like to get drunk". Most people don't like to get drunk. They like to get on a good level. They get sociable and friendly. Drunk is getting mad over stupid things or confessing your love for some girl. Alcohol is more than an acquired taste, it's an acquired experience man.

Different people drink to intoxication for different reasons, and to varying degrees. Having a few drinks to loosen up on occasion with friends and/or new people is fun, lowers inhibitions, helps people to relax a little. And then there are those who drown their sorrrows or are addicted in some way..not a good place to be. As a rule of thumb, if you dont do it more than once/month, never drive whilst under the influence, and you can remember the previous night's events the next morning, you are fine. If you fail to meet any of those critereon, you may have a problem and should talk to a counsellor or something.

when you are drunk, it feels like you are the man of the world and you could do anything and not get embarassed.
as long as you dont get wasted, only a little drunk, and you can do anything
your mind floats in heaven
just dont drink and drive, its not cool and it doesnt make you the man of the world, kids die every day from drunk drivers and its honestly stupid
but go out and try it, you will not regret it

I dont think people go for the drunk part of it. most people want to get a good buzz. It loosens you up and kind of gives you liquid courage. You seem to be able to have fun stupid convo's and just have a good time. Most people accidently get drunk. or at least i do. lol

cause you can have so much fun doing so. the conversation can be great and every one relaxes minus the angry drunks and the drunks who overreact and cry.

It's because they don't really like who they are when they are sober. Getting buzzed once in a while can be fun. Getting totally wasted over and over is not a good sign, though.

Because when you drink, then you feel relaxed and happy.
But some people can't stop and control themselves, so they keep drinking until they pass out.
