Let then wear there own dress and call it a rainbow wedding.
You can even do a flower theme of the colors of the dresses.

When we got married, I made a deal with my bridesmaids ~ I told them that if they paid for their own dress, they could choose the style they wanted. All I asked was that it was a colour from our wedding theme (gold, red or green in our case because we had a Christmas wedding).
It went down well and was really succesful, especially as I had 6 bridesmaids and they ranged from a little girl to a woman 5 years older than me.
Hope this helps x

Hi,maybe the bridesmaids could buy their own dresses ,in a colour they all agree on but maybe different styles.or even toning colours would be OK say blue, lilac and purple or ,pastel shades.like lemon, pale blue and pink.If you are having a registry office wedding, then it would be fine for them to wear their own favourite dresses, but i think a church wedding really does need to match as much as possible,as it always seems a bit more "posh" not that a registry one can`t be if you want it to be.I have seen the full white dress and bridesmaid thing done at a registry office too.I hope this helps and wish you and your partner the very best for the future xx

Hi Yoyo.... I am in the same boat, I have 3 very differently shaped bridesmaids - and not much money to spend! I decided on a simple A line dress, and got the perfect one (x3) on ebay from states. They cost me £25 each (approx $50). They look lovely :) (remember if you do buy them, they are only going to be worn for one day - or if you go for something that can be worn again, as your bridesmaid's to buy them!)
Good luck

I have my bridesmaids wearing a long black dress of their choice. They all have very different body types and finances and I thought this would be best. My cousin did the same thing and the girls all looked GREAT! They were all comfortable and they bought dresses that they could wear again. I am having a Maid of honor, a bridesmaid and a bridesman (one of my best friends is a guy and I felt he should stand on my side w/me).

You could get different styles in one color and then tie them in with the flowers they carry down the aisle. Or if you want to use what you have, then ask the bridesmaids to bring all of their best dresses to your house so you can go through them and decide which ones look good together. You want them to look nice, but really everyone is going to be looking at YOU!! Best wishes

My bridesmaid dresses were given to me by my aunt, they were ones her grand daughter had worn and weddings a year apart-they were almost the same colour and almost the same style. i ended up paying for just the one dress and i got that in the sale!
Good luck

There are consignment/re-sale stores that specialize in bridesmaids dresses. That's one solution. The other is, of course, up to you - if you want your maids to be happy and comfy, then of course they can wear their own dresses. You should specifiy if they are all going to be in floor-length or cocktail length though. A really classy look for cheap is to ask each girl to wear a long-sleeve or sleeveless WHITE BLOUSE, then go to Sears or Wal-Mart and buy long slim black or navy skirts for $20 each. You can outfit 5 girls for $100. and then go to nearest Ardene and get them all matching wide belts in your color scheme. Tell them to wear black shoes. By having floor length skirts, you avoid the goofy look of different hemlengths and they can always wear it again. If you wanted a definite color scheme for the tops, you could buy them all v-neck, long sleeve knit tops at Walmart or cotton ginny in your choice of color. Really.

why not get your girls together and y'all go thru their wardrobes and see what you can come up with? if they all happen to have a basic black cocktail dress, then why not get them to wear those? they certainly don't have to be the same dress, just similar.
or you could go to the shops together and find something off the rack as opposed to being made for them.
if by chance you are getting marrried in warm weather why not just get them to wear a pretty spring dress?
y'know sweetie, y'all could just wear clean jeans and t-shirts and get married. whatever you and they find comfortable will work. there is no magic formula, there are no rules, all you need to do is say your 'i do's' and get on with being a Mrs.!
