This cooking website, says hard-boiled eggs is a misnomer as they should not be boiled for any length of time.
& from experience, they are better that way, less rubbery.

Add eggs in shells to cold water,
put on stove top,
heat to a rolling boil,
remove from heat.

Let sit for 13 minutes.
Rinse eggs with cold water immediately.
Peel eggs for use
or
refrigerate them in their shells.

Hard Boiled eggs can be made easier and faster but the won't be - The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg

Recipe By : Julia Child, “The Way to Cook”
Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:40

For 1-4 Eggs:
1 to 4 Eggs
2 quarts water -- * see note
For 12 Eggs:
12 Eggs
3 1/2 quarts water -- * see note
For 24 Eggs:
24 Eggs
6 quarts water -- * see note
Special Equipment_________________________
High (not wide) Saucepan with cover
Bowl w/ice cubes & water (large enough to
completely cover eggs)

*note: water should cover the eggs by 1 inch, so use a tall pan, and limit cooking to 2 dozen eggs at a time.

1. Lay the eggs in the pan and add the amount of cold water specified. Set over high heat and bring just to the boil; remove from heat, cover the pan, and let sit exactly 17 minutes.

2. When the time is up, transfer the eggs to the bowl of ice cubes and water. Chill for 2 minutes while bringing the cooking water to the boil
again. (This 2 minute chilling shrinks the body of the egg from the shell.)

3. Transfer the eggs (6 at a time only) to the boiling water, bring to the boil again, and let boil for 10 seconds - this expands the shell from the
egg. Remove eggs, and place back into the ice water.

Chilling the eggs promptly after each step prevents that dark line from forming, and if time allows, leave the eggs in the ice water after the last step for 15 to 20 minutes. Chilled eggs are easier to peel, as well.

Put a few eggs in a saucepan. Fill saucepan with cold water until it covers the top of the eggs by about one inch of water. Bring to a boil on the stove. Let boil 5 minutes.

Afterwards, set pan of eggs in sink and run cold water over them. Then either eat right away or place in refrigerator.

1. get a pot, fill it half way with water
2. put the pot on the stove
3. turn the temp to high
4. watch the pot until it starts boil. Never take your eyes off of it for even a second.

5. When you are watching the pot, you have to get the timing just right. If you can't see the exact moment when the water starts to boil, your eggs wont turn out correctly.

6. At the exact moment you see the water begin to boil, put the eggs in

7. cook for 15 minutes

8. rinse under cold water

I'm only teasing you a little bit...if you watch the water and try to see when it starts to boil, it won't happen for you.

Just put the water on the stove, wait for it to boil, cook the eggs for 15 minutes, then rinse under cold water.

Bingo.

PS, I think a 5 minute boiled egg will still be runny. 15 minutes, for sure they will be HARD boiled.

Put water in a pot with a couple pinches of salt. Place the egss inside. Boil... Ehm I don't think there really is prep time. It generally takes between 4 and 8minutes (depending on how light you want the egg yolks)

They are very easy to make. All you do is bring water up to boiling then but some eggs, in the shel,l in the water then set an egg timer. I shouldn't take more than 8 minutes but don't quote my on that.
