Okay, so I see where you are going with this. (stupid way of asking this question because it makes people angry and unwilling to discuss this. and rightly so)

Firstly not everyone man kneels when he proposes, just like not all men propose. (women have been known to propose as well)
Secondly- you're not supposed to BEG when asking the woman to marry you. You are supposed to do just what it says, 'propose', and 'ask'. and though you don't have to go down on your knee, the reason women find it so romantic is because for that one moment it gives them a feeling 'power' and the not the kind that you talk about.
Just pleasure at this one moment of having the power to make their own decision.
Don't be ridiculous about this, because in the end, after that one proposal on or off the knee, the woman will probably end up doing the laundry anyway.

Then I guess you die old and alone because there is no women in her right mind that would do that. And the man doesn't beg, he asks and its a tradition to kneel and ask, not every proposal is like that. There are different ways to propose to someone and it doesn't matter how you propose,
if you really love somebody! What on earth possessed you to ask a question, when you knew clearly what the answers would be?

I've just shown your question to my husband and he's laughing, in agreeance with you.
As a Christian wife, I believe that a wife should submit to her husband (stop groaning everyone - I also believe that a husband should love his wife as Christ loves the church, which means that he would be happy to die a painful death to save her even if she spit in his face and said that she hated him).
So, I think that a woman who would serve you and revere you like that would, indeed be an admirable wife. However, I think for you to go into a marriage with the expectation that that will always happen is weak.
Marriage is a partnership, and if you expect that from a wife, you'd sure as hell better be doing everything you can to put your wife first in everything you do as well.

While I agree with your implication that it's pretty ridiculous how men are always expected to beg, while most women act conceited with "as if" reactions (which, by the way, is NOT true love anyway). It is so wrong for you to expect any woman to call you "Master". Two people who are truly in love and ready for commitment should come together to be as equals and share the load. The only master we should serve is God.

Well I think you will have to learn how to treat a woman with a little respect before you expect to get married. It takes a lot of nerve for you to expect that.
