You are beautiful just the way you are. You should examine why you want to become "light skinned". Being dark skinned has so many advantages over "light" or "fair" skinned. You will age more gracefully than us fair skinned girls, less wrinkles due to the amount of Melanin in your skin. Have you ever seen the model Alec Wek (spelling?)? She is from Africa and she is quite dark skinned. She is beautiful and looks like none of the other "cookie cutter" models out there. Embrace your beautiful dark skin, be proud of who you are. You can't change what is on the outside without looking crazy. Look at Micheal Jackson: he looks ridiculous. Oprah Winfrey said on a show several months ago, Black don't crack. I don't know your ethnicity but being darker skinned has many advantages. Look at all of the "white" females tanning themselves into leather to be darker. (not me I embrace my white pasty skin, I don't want skin cancer.) All they do is make themselves look ten years older. Be who you are and be proud.

There is not much you can do about that, just not to much time in the sun. But my advice to you is to stop worrying about that! Black is beautiful! You should be proud of who you are! I know you are a beautiful woman and that is not something you need to try to "fix". EVERY woman is a queen! And if somebody ever says anything about you being dark, haven't you heard the saying "the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice! Most girls are going to the tanning beds to get darker, so you go lucky! God made you the way he thought was beautiful so don't try to fix something that God has made beautiful already! Work on your self esteem & bless you!

OMG please I'm a white (caucasian) guy and I tell you every single white woman in the world wants your 'suntan' for her very own. You are beautiful as you are in the skin that you were born with. Change your dress by all means, but your skin is your very own, it is the largest and perhaps the most important organ in the human body, tampering with it can seriously damage your health and your life prospects. If you are that enamoured of the pale easily burned northern skin, then find a white partner to have your children by. 'Blends' are usualy much tastier and more interesting than the plain 'china' or 'indian' tea!

Washing your face every hour and drinking water isn't going to make a difference. What you need to do is change your mindset, educate yourself and embace you beauty. I don't know what race you are whether your black, indian or so on but just love your complexion. I remember when i was younger and hanging around white people i use to feel inadequate because of my skin tone but my mother raised my well and told me to embace my skin tone (even though i'm not dark about the same colour as my avatar). I love being my skin tone, i don't have to use a sun bed, self tanning lotion or worry about get sunburn. Plus darker skin tones ages gracefully and are less prone to wrinkles i get complements from white people that are envious of my complexion. My fellow class mate always makes jokes about wishing she was dark skinned because she goes red when she's embarrassed, you see...EMBRACE GIRLIE EMBRACE!

Um.. I don't think you can naturally become light skined. But it would help to avoid the sun as much as possible and wear sunblock when exposed to the sun. Drinking alot water is good for your skin also and natural juices. I am light skined myself and I get tanned when out in the sun and I go back to my natural tone during fall and winter. Hope this helps you.

You'd have to ask Michael Jackson about that one. On second thought, you wouldn't want to look like him would you? No amount of hydroquonone (sp?) is going to make your skin noticeably lighter. My skin is very fair - actually the same color as a dead chicken. We just gotta make do with what we're given and make the best of it. Who you are is not your skin color. Try not to fret about it so.

Please don't try to become light skinned...just look at michael jackson(he looked much better being the person he was supposed to be). Try to focus on loving the person you are, being lighter skinned won't make you prettier....there are ugly people and good looking people of all skin colours, embrace the skin you've been given and be proud of whatever your heritage.

Where long sleeve shirts.
I used to do that and I am sort of brown but it works!
I also don't outside that much ether and some how when I go out in the sun I look pale!
So I think that you should where long sleeve shirts or where sun screen when you go outside.

Honestly, I'm light skinned so I have no idea how to actually help you, however, i do want to say that I think you should learn to enjoy your skin color. Be proud of it. There is NOTHING wrong with being dark skinned. Don't try to become something else. You're not Michael Jackson darling. That may happen if you try and something goes wrong.
