I had a break out of acne back in high school but I decided to do nothing about it for a year. That was a mistake. Shortly after that I decided to take care of my skin. Tried a lot of stuff and now my skin looks bad. What acne solutions would you recommend for acne and acne scars. I was thinking of pro-activ. Thanks.

my son has been using pine tar soap for a over two months now. it has really helped clear it up. he had it really bad. huge sores on his face, back and some on his arms and chest. you can get it thru your pharmacy. it costs about $4 a bar and a bar can last 3-4 wks. His skin is 100 percent clearer now

Some people find that pro-activ works very well at preventing future breakouts. It's expensive but try it and see if it works for you. If you want to prevent breakouts try that and try a topical cream like benzoyl peroxide (eg Oxy, Clearasil) or something with salicylic acid in it.
Each night, wash you face well and then go over your face with a toner (put it on a cottonball and rub it over your face). Then apply the cream.
If your acne is still bad, see your doctor and they prescribe a stronger acne medication for you.
For old acne scars, you might also want to talk to your doctor. There are things they can have done like peels and laser treatments to make these look better..

Yes proactive is very good for the treatment and prevention of acne, but for the blemishes try spot treatment with a bleaching cream that contains hydroquinone.

I hear proactive works well, but there is some new stuff out that is said to work better than that. It's that Clean and Clear. Its a three step treatment kit just like proactive ,but it is cheaper and said to work faster and more productively than proactive! Look at this website:

proactive works. take it from a person with 1st hand experience it works great
if its REALL TERRIBLE ACNE give it a month and itll be really really clear!
MAKE SURE U GET THE REFINING MASK AND THE GREEN TEA MOSTURIZER.
its a little pricey but if u wanna get cured do it
