1) How did Christ come back from the after being resurrected? Where was He when He was teaching those who had already died? After His resurrection, Christ did many things that we cannot physically explain currently. All it says in the Book of Mormon is that He was introduced by the voice of God, and He descended from heaven.
2) Any evidence to the contrary? But I think this scripture should clear things up. It is Adam-ondi-Ahman that is in Missouri. Here is the link D&C 116:1 http://scriptures.lds.org/en/dc/116/1#1

Let me start by saying that I am actively involved in the LDS (Mormon) church. I'll give a quick explanation of both points without trying to get into trying to convince you if one position on the issue is more correct than another.
1) When Christ appears on the American continent in a portion of the Book of Mormon called 3 Nephi, he descends from the heavens, much like He ascended to the heaven after his resurrection in the Bible. The reason for His appearance here was to minister to the people in this part of the world, who were a branch of the tree of Israel according to the story.
The Book of Mormon explains that this is in fulfillment of Christ's words that He was going to His "other sheep."
While He was in the America's (not clear on North or South), he taught the people the gospel found in the New Testament, called twelve disciples to minister unto the people in that part of the world, healed the sick, and blessed the children. Then, he ascended back into the heavens.
2)Joseph Smith taught that the Garden of Eden was in or near Jackson County Missouri. While there is no evidence to prove this, Mormons tend to see it as possible, the rationale being that the world after the flood of Noah is not the same as the world was before the flood. In other words, the rivers in Iraq are not necessarily those mentioned in Genesis. Asserting that they are the same place, just because of their names is like saying that Moscow, Idaho is the capitol of Russia.
So, while there is no evidence to support it, there isn't really evidence to oppose it either.

1) He visited His "Other Sheep" which included those in what is now the Americas. (North and South) AFTER his resurrection. I saw that someone said before...but that is incorrect. It was after.
2) Missouri. Only modern day revelation as far as I know...After all...there has been a flood and a few thousand years in between. That and the fact that God doesn't want anyone to find it could be part of the problem of evidence as well.

I'll agree whole-heartedly with GQ_Wonder.
1. The Book of Mormon describes Jesus as descending from Heaven, similar to how he ascended into heaven.
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/3_ne/11
2. Joseph Smith taught that the Garden of Eden was in Missouri. There really isn't any evidence to that. But there really isn't any evidence for it to be anywhere else.

1 I guess they believe he was translated like Elisha was translated to Heaven w/o tasting death.(see a Bible dictionary, if necessary). There is no biblical evidence of Christ ever being away from his disciples @ any time between his resurrection and transfiguration. Also, it never mentions him going to North America. If it were true.Would it not say so? That's pretty important information.
2. They believe the garden of eden was in Missouri. Also, that the return of Christ will be to Missouri. As far as I know. I have never seen any evidence of this fact.

1~ he came to visit the people who lived on this continent AFTER his death but before he was resurrected. His purpose was to teach those here like he'd done over there.
2~ supposedly Missouri(if memory serves) but thats one of those things that cant really be proven. So its a "faith-based" teaching of the church.

When Jesus was on the cross His last words? "It is finished." That means it is over, there is no more.
Joseph Smith Jr (founder of Mormonism) changed his story four times because he could remember who appeared to him, when it happened and where it happened.
Personally, if it had been me and there was a glorious appearing, I'd remember those kind of details.
Second of all...the Garden of Eden was in the Middle East...not in America as in the Mid-West. (No pun intended.)
Hope this helps!

The book of Mormon, whence these thoughts arose from, is not an inspired book but was rather created from a manuscript that a Baptist Minister wrote for his congregation in the 1800's as a fictional story, but was later stolen and proclaimed to have been inspired.
