Actually if you read from the early church fathers, you will find that they were pretty much Catholic. There is no date for when the Catholic Church first branched off the main trunk of Christianity. You can make an argument that the Catholics are the original trunk of the tree and everything else is branches.

Catholicism is the first Church of Christianity. Other Denominations, Protestantism in particular, branched out from the Catholic Church. We, Catholics and Protestants, are all Christians.

The Catholic Church is the first Christian church. The Protestant Movement (which gave birth to all of the protestant denominations) branched from the Catholic Church (remember Martin Luther?).

European Catholicism is a branch of Christianity and a false one.

Christianity (aka Protestantism) put the focus back on God and the Bible and away from the godless, false Pope and his Italian poetry which has tossed away the Bible completely.

No, Christianity has become a more broadly used term. Catholic serves to identify Christians of Apostolic succession.

Christ is the tree that represents Christianity.
Faith is the taproot that descends from this tree.
God is the power that the taproot draws its nourishment from.
There may be many branches, yet they are all one.

If this is not understood, then a human should in no way call themselves a True Christian!
