religion, there is a defense mechanism that goes up without
even thinking! Most people are religious yet disagree on
important religious concepts, especially regarding God.
Although some religions do refer to God in a pleural form
meaning more than one. The basic fundamental religions
of Christianity, Islam and Judaism(spelling) all refer to
prophets. Yet their is a major disagreement of who is a
prophet. This can even be discerned in Christianity itself.
Look at the Mormons, Lutherans, Catholics and other
protestants. Mormons believe that Joseph Smith was
the chosen prophet of the new Church, The lutherans be-
lieve it was Martin Luther both mortal men. Most of the
Protestants focus on Jesus as the Messiah. Why do
you suppose that people are willing to accept that God
would speak to Joseph Smith, Martin Luther as oppose
to anyone else on earth. Just because someone does
something phenomenal, does that necessarily make them
a proclaimed prophet.

What makes you think god wouldn't choose Joseh Smith? God said that it wa time came out of the dark ages and appointed Smith prophet , and after him, Brigham Young. Do you think they have done wrong? Look at the mormons. Look at their customs. They are the nicest people that try SO hard to be close to Christ. Please be nice about my religion.

The reason there are so many religions so close together, yet so far away? God always said that many false religions would pop up and try to take human kind of the right path. The closer the devil gets to the real thing, the easier it is to lead people astray. Their will always be a distinct flaw from the true path in these other religions. Many people today see the morality issues in religion as a deep flaw. They think this because they have become the center of their own universe, it is ironic how the people who beleive that humans were a coincidenceand that we are just useless beings are the same people who only serve themselves and deny others and God. Einstein used his science to find God....many people don't bring that up.

And your point is? Christians and Jews do not worship prophets. Some people choose to believe in a mortal man...men are not perfect and then the 'followers' are misinformed. No-where in the Bible does God direct us to worship prophets. In fact, we are told that with the coming of Messiah... 'sons and daughters' will hear from God directly.
I listen to the Lord and what He has for me. I find that all organized religions have some bad doctrines..and can lead people astray, or even abuse its' members. This is why we are to study the scriptures for ourselves and ask God's Spirit to guide us. I always ask those who you speak of...'why do you believe what you do?'...and usually it is because they 'heard' it rather than studied it for themselves. I also try to study the scriptures through the Hebraic roots and idioms used at the time they were written. This way I can better understand those hard passages that many denominations misunderstand.
God is not a respecter of persons and therefor all will stand before Him for judgment..even those who 'call' themselves 'prophets.'

We can all claim to be prophets, yet if you think about it, God only prophesized about Jesus, he did not lead us to think that there would be more. Is Joseph Smith or any of the others a prophet, sure, they are false prophets, which is prophesized in the Bible. Jesus was the last to speak to God and he is our intercessor, we do not need a priest to confess, we need a personal relationship with Christ. Many are looking for answers, but they are looking in the wrong places and they will get their ears tickled with what they want to hear. If you are not founded in what you believe you will be like a leaf in the wind, being tossed here and there. Weak minds will believe anything. People get defenseful because it is as if someone is insulting them directly when they speak ill of their religion. I take it as, if they are not rejecting me, they are rejecting God.

This defence mechanism thrown up by irreligious people is actually proof that they do not know God. God does not need any defence, neither by priest, pope, minister, preacher or evangelist, or for that matter ill educated zealots.
There is one God, one Spirit, one Absolute Truth and if people claim to know God, they will share the same Spirit, the same Knowledge.
That they disagree is evidence that they are still in bondage to the ignorance of the ego.
Every person can (and eventually will) become a mouthpiece of God (Prophet).
The greatest among you shall be your servant - anyone that exalts themselves over others does not know God.
People without a Spiritual education are sincerely looking for 'truth' and these people that raise themselves up take advantage of this.
Einstein, Nostradamus etc were men who knew God (to a greater or lesser degree) and that is why they did not attempt to dupe anyone by calling themselves 'prophets' and exalting themselves above others and establish 'churches'.

IF A PERSON IS A TRUE PROPHET, THEY MUST AGREE WITH THE BIBLICAL "TESTS" OF A TRUE PROPHET, AS FOUND IN DEUTERONOMY 18:20-22. A PERSON DOESN'T BECOME A PROPHET BECAUSE THEY SOMEHOW DESIRED IT, BUT A PROPHET IS A "MOUTHPIECE" FOR GOD THAT HE CHOOSES. THE MESSAGES THEY GIVE ARE OFTEN NOT THAT DESIRABLE TO GIVE. THEY OFTEN WERE GIVEN MESSAGES OF REPROOF FOR THOSE THAT WERE NOT FOLLOWING THE LIFESTYLE THAT GOD WOULD WANT THEM TO FOLLOW. MANY WERE STONED BY THOSE THAT DIDN'T WANT TO LISTEN TO WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY. HOWEVER, GOD CHOSE THEM BECAUSE HE KNEW THEY WOULD GIVE THE MESSAGE HE WANTED THEM TO GIVE, WHETHER IT WAS POPULAR AND ACCEPTED OR NOT.
