Yes, I should think it would be the same. You just need to make sure you get the temperature right during preparation and allow the correct amount of time for culturing and refrigeration.

No! purchase a container of normal (unflavored) commercial yogurt and use 2 Tbsp. of it as starter on your new batch. Then only save out 2 Tbsp. each and each time for the subsequent batch! that is what the instructions from my new yogurt maker say. have exciting!
