Doesn't this make this difficult and frustrating for Christian men?

It's nature. Women need to feel that men can protect them and the offspring. Nice guys are great but if they're nice to the point that they don't have an ounce of aggression in them, well... how can we have faith that they could fight off a saber tooth tiger if the occasion should arise?:)
Nice is not a problem, nice is my favourite quality in a guy. But if he crosses the line into weediness I quickly lose my enthusiasm...

I admire the way You reduce the most complicated and oldest question in the world to two brief, interrelated, clear questions. No kidding. Most of the time on R&S it's the other way around.

Not forgetting that guys have their own puzzling prejudices, i find the simplest answer to Your question in the Don Juan complex. If You are too nice to start with, she will see no room for improving You. Even a Christian girl wants to feel she is Your salvation.

P.S. Older women prefer the nicer men.

Being Christian shouldn't mean being sissy. A Christian man should be honorable and good, and polite, but that doesn't mean he isn't daring, exciting, and a leader. It really depends on what you mean by "nice." Bunny rabbits are nice.

I'm surprised that your post went unanswered for so long; it seems to have stunned the worldly christians that always have the answers. You ask a good question; but if you read Judges 11 CORRECTLY, you'll see that though God's Spirit was "upon the man", God NEVER demanded a child sacrifice from Jephthah. Verses 30 & 35 plainly show how Jephthah made this erratic and foolish vow ON HIS OWN... You say that "Jesus can`t be that nice guy we read about in the N.T." Personally, I've never READ about such a Pansy Pushover-type of "love-love Jesus" that I was TOLD ABOUT in the Baptist church. This leads me to wonder "IF" you've ever actually READ the Scriptures for yourself, or is this how you HEARD IT TAUGHT in some Commercial Money-Making church house that Brainwashes people into seeing it the way THEY want it to be~ instead of teaching it AS IT IS. (Matt. 10:34-35) Christ SAID that He DID NOT come to send Peace on earth; He came with a SWORD to bring WAR and make ENEMIES~ and His Enemies (John 15:14; who Disobey God's Commandments) will (Luke 19:27) be SLAUGHTERED in His Holy Presence AT HIS COMMAND!!! Therefore, I suggest that you FORGET EVERYTHING you've EVER been taught in a church~ especially their FORCE-FED to be memorized verses, which in fact Brainwash "THEIR Doctrine" into your mind~ and STUDY the Scriptures ON YOUR OWN~ after praying for proper Understanding of the Truth. I'm sure you'd be very amazed to see all the things they REFUSE to teach in Americanized churches. I don't adhere to the False teachings of the 'Trinity' scheme... (two is three and three is one equals one and all is the same doo-wah-diddle-diddle blah blah blah). Those people don't even KNOW the REAL God. (Mark 13:32) Christ Himself stated that HE DID NOT KNOW the things GOD Knows~ but False Protestant Pastors Refuse to teach this TRUTH because their followers pay to hear the 'Trinity' LIES. That's the Protestant Way! Another thing that you'll never hear in the Pay-Per-View pastor's protestant church is that Christ is a KILLER of Children! Yeah, buddy; (Rev. 2:23) In the Words of Christ Himself, in the King James Version of the Christian's Inerrant Bible~ and I quote Jesus as saying: I WILL KILL HER CHILDREN WITH DEATH... (Rev. 6:16) THE WRATH OF THE LAMB, for sure! I don't know about you; but THAT'S MY KIND OF CHRIST! Be Honest, now; Have you EVER heard of such Christian TRUTHS in a CHURCH??? I didn't think so; and in fact, I KNOW you haven't. You're welcome to email me if you'd like to learn more. PS: Don't be surprised if they delete this post; the Truth seems Very Unwelcome here. If you'd like to read more Truths of God, which you'll probably never hear in a Commercial church, feel free to check out my book~ Antichristism: The Doctrines of American Religiosophers and Priestcrafters. It tells about the Holy War that's secretly taking place on American soil... TODAY! . ...And for the Ignorant... The CHRISTIAN BIBLE... The so-called Inerrant Word of GOD... Numbers 25:4(KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel. Oh, and by the way... (Judges 11:39-40) Jephthah DID KILL his daughter... BY HIS OWN HAND, as according to his vow. What Ignorance, indeed! It's no wonder that so many intelligent people despise the so-called 'christians' of the American churches of Antichrist Protestantism. May God have Mercy on your horrendous souls.

There's a difference between nice and a doormat. I want the former, but not the latter.

There is a difference between nice and pushover darling. Nice doesn't mean dominant, but it doesn't mean pushover either. I don't know too many nice guys but I would love one.
