First, you probably don;t understand the reasons behind the Crusades or the Inquisition. Second, it's clear you have no clue about atheism or Communism. The only thing that atheist share is the we don't believe in gods. Communism is a political philosophy, two very different things.

I don't know that much about the inquisitions - other than it was total evil. (as a Christian it makes me upset to know that people could be so deceived about the obvious teachings of their own faith, and therefore all the more careful) I think the point is that anyone can be brainwashed into doing something that is actually a violation of their faith - especially in a society where nobody could read and write, where the people were starving, and where everything was owned by the nobility. Most 'crusaders' were peasants, and there was even a children's crusade. That's not to say that they were not sincere believers, but those 'directing' the action were often manipulating power brokers - many from the ruling classes whose land was no longer able to support the large numbers of peasants living there. Human beings are complex and those with great power often greatly corrupted. Same thing is happening today in Islam. Lenin used the same principles to gain control of Russia - tell the people about the equality of all, and then turn them against each other (so they were not equal after all) same thing has happened in many places in history - not just Christians. Powerful people will always take advantage of the disadvantaged and manipulate them to accomplish their goals.

No one is "blaming" Christians for the Crusades or the Inquisition. Those things were created and carried out by the church leaders.
Still, if it makes you feel better, you can "blame" Atheists for Russia if you can produce documents that said people were killed in the name of Atheism....

It would be fair play, if it were true. It wasn't the cause of atheism that brought about the pogroms and disappearances during Stalin's evil regime (or those who came afterwards). It was totalitarian communism, and that's not the same thing. Yes, the communists were also nominal atheists, but that did not frame their world view; their world view was about a particular kind of economic state.
You may want to learn more deeply about history before making such unwise pronouncements. Just a gentle suggestion.

It is better to educate people on the distinction between atheism and communism, and Christianity and feudalism.
See what I mean? People on here seem to be confused about a lot of things, not the least of which is the motivation behind the Crusades and the actual connection between atheism and communism.

Yeah. The Crusades were fought between two religions ove the "Holy Land".
The atrocities in Russia were not the result of forced atheism, but of a communist dictatorship.

If communism was meant to support atheism, communist China would not have attacked Buddhist (and therefore atheist) Tibet. The crusades, on the other hand, were purely religiously motivated. Your comparison fails. QED

It's a little harder to assign blame in the case of communism.
The bible has passages that order the killing of certain people, such as "though shall not suffer a witch to live". Bullying, torture and death of supposed witches comes directly from the religion.
In the case of atheism, there is no law from on high that says you must kill someone.
Secondly, we don't make the claim that our belief is the absolute source of all morality. We understand that people can be moral or not not no matter what their view on religion. In short, we admit that everyone (atheists included) can do horrible things.

Since no one now living was responsible for the Crusades or the Inquisition, it makes no sense to blame people who are alive now for it.
Therefore I don't.
Thus, since I'm not responsible for Stalin's Soviet Union, it makes no sense to blame me for that.
If you think it's wrong to blame people for things they didn't do, why do you want to do it yourself?
Why don't you want to be a fair and rational human being?

Atheists do not blame they simply state the facts as they are. Reality is atrocities are often committed in the name of "Christianity". Atheists simply decry that there is a G-d so any atrocities they commit in the name of Man.
