Have you expressed your feelings to your mom? I'm sure she does not mean to exclude you. There is an old saying that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Your brother may simply be more demanding of her attention in one way or another, while you suffer in silence. Approach your mom respectfully at a quiet time and tell her that you sometimes feel neglected and would like to spend more time with her. Ask her if once a week you and she can spend an hour or two together without your brothers so that you can do "girl" things and have "girl" talks. I think that she will make an effort to spend more time with you.

My daughter years ago tried saying that about me, when in all actuallity, she realized she was the one withdrawing from us.

She still today, even though she is now a mother tries pulling the old sob story about oh mom, you like them better than me. She also has to grow up and realize she is very self centered and rude to others.

My daughter feels that way, she's said it many, many times and I try to reassure her that it's just not true.
Young men in this society have a harder time than young women.....and mothers seem to encourage them and push them a little more, and of course as a black mother I tend to worry more for my sons.
It doesn't mean that we don't love our daughters, because we truly, truly do. I encourage her just as much as I do them, but I expect her to be able to stand up for herself and provide for herself without having to depend on a man to that for her.
Just as I do my sons, knowing they will be able to do for themselves as well.

Your mother loves you dear heart........believe that!
