"Just a minute!" works. It's lets them know the bathroom is in use, but that you realize someone else needs it, so you will oblige and hurry up.

I say very loudly...Do you mind, I'm in here taking a toilet water splashing dump!!!?? I'll be out within the next hour."
Then I usually ask them to bring me some reading material and a can of industrial strength air freshener. What's even funnier is telling an unsuspecting person that you left something in the bathroom and need them to get it for you. Watch as they enter the bathroom and quickly run away screaming , gagging and gasping for air. LOL

I say, very loudly, "Poooping!"
Okay, no not really. I usually just say, "yes" or "hello".
I always lock the door though, so really I don't have to say anything..once they discover the door is locked they should just go away and try back later.

"I'll just be a minute!" if I really will be. If things aren't um, going along fast, then I ignore it, the locked door should be a clue.
