It's really up to how you prefer it. Personally, I like "training wheels" w/ tequila. A little salt on the top of your hand, drink the shot, followed w/ a lemon.
I also like vodka, chilled& strained, either straight, or, if you're not a fan of the straight shot, try sugar on your hand, follow w/the shot, and a lemon to top it off.

Tequila usually with salt and a lime. I don't always do the lime though. Vodka I do straight out of the freezer so it is nice an cold!!!

I usually take them straight with a beer back. Sometimes if I have them I will use lime and salt with the tequila. I like to mix my vodka with cranberry juice sometimes.

i tried this once and it was great
take a bottle (vodka, captain morgan, whatever)
take turns sipping it straight and the give the bottle to a friend and the friend then gives you a bottle of beer and you take a sip of that as a chaser
soon, the beer starts to taste like water and its soo good
otherwise, fill a shot cup with some hard **** and drink like theres no tomorrow

I drink vodka straight and tequila with lemon and salt (silver) but I don't like it, I don't drink it if I have to.

Tequila: bite a lime wedge, lick dab of salt (usually on your hand) and then down the shot.
Vodka: bite a lemon wedge, lick a dab of sugar (ditto hand) and down the shot.
Or just drink them straight like the big boys (and girls) do.

I like training wheels with my tequilla (salt and lemon) unless it's a really smooth brand, like Patron.
I don't care for straight vodka shots, so don't do them unless they're mixed (purple hooter or other such).

Okay.. pour them in a shot glass. Lick your left hand, pour salt on that. get your lime in your left hand and shotglass in your right. Lick the salt, Slam the shot, hen put the lime in your mouth. YAy good luck!
