Is the fossil fuel industry getting their monies worth in the US in spreading disinformation about global warming?

Bob W, it's "in fact" not "infact"
In this context it is not money that is possessive, it is plural. So monies is correct.

Their intent is to delay by confusion and doubt... look at all the flies their honey attracts at this site.

Just think how much progress could be made if the same amounts were spent on solutions rather than maintenance of the status-quo!

Oh so you believe that if we doubt AGW global warming, it's because of data the fuel industries are feeding us? Why can't it just be we have a mind of our own and we don't just believe everything the media is trying to feed people. Besides I never see the other side of the story on TV and it sure isn't easily found on the Internet. Since there is a heavy bias for stating it's all human caused global warming.

But I do think it's fun to point out contradictions in sites that others that believe in AGW seem to want to gloss over. I should be careful though, since at least one of them is starting to get a bit annoyed with me.

Let's face it, global warming is not a new thing, it's been around for billions, trillions of years. What, do you thing made the wooly rhino and the sabre toothed tiger die out. It doesn't make the blindest bid of difference if we'd stop driving cars, burnig fossil fuel etc.,, the process is unstappable. Our time is up, the same way as the dinosaurs time was up doney's years ago, and the sooner we accept that fact the better. We have done enough damage to our planet, polution, total destruction of habitat, factory farming, you name it, we've had our chance to make a difference, God knows how many times over and what did we do? Sweet F A, nada, nothing - if anything we accellerated the 'rape' of mother nature. She's had enough - and there's nothing we can do. How does the saying go, you mess with the bull, you get a horn up your a..!

Yes, they probably are. A lot of organisations seem to use advertising, not so much to change peoples minds, but to change the editiorial policy of the media they are advertising in. You see this with governments, charities, industry groups and corporations. The advertisments alone achieve very little, but they can change what you see on the news and most people have a lot of faith in what the see on the news.

Army recruitment advertisments for example may or may not be justified in obtaining recruits. Writing regular cheques to media organisation can induce a little favourable press coverage for overseas conflicts.

I don't think so. It's common knowledge that Algore's family fortunes are tied to his holdings of Occidental Petroleum.

It looks like the High Priest of the Church of AGW is making a mint from both sides of this debate.

Considering how many people actually believe their misinformation and how little has been done to address global warming, particularly in the USA, I'd say their money has been effective so far.
