I am considering nursing school, but my husband is in the ARMY. How well will I be able to keep a job with us moving around often?

Any career you choose while your husband's in the military is difficult. The great thing about nursing, though, is that nurses are always needed. Just make sure to start monitoring job openings at the post you're going to next before you PCS.

The one thing I would consider, would be adding a second language while you're in school. I have a career in the medical field that's transferred well, but when we moved to Miami, I was unable to get a job because I don't speak Spanish.

Nursing is a good job with the military. Nurses are needed everywhere so its easy to find a job at a new location.

My mother became one as well at the tail end of my dad's career. The hospital she works out gets a lot of nurses married to the military.

Also, if you can get a job on the base hospital, you can work on a federal retirement as well.

Nursing is probally one of the best jobs you can have, with a husband in the military.

Every military post always needs civilian nurses at the base hospital.

So employment will be easy to get.

Nursing is an outstanding job field. There are TONS of opportunies, everywhere you go. Army posts have their own hospitals and clinics so they are used to emloyees coming and going. Even if you get a job off post, they are usually understanding about the military community and know that people come and go every few years.

You could use your military spouse position once at every post you PCS to. Every miltary installation has civilian workers especially in the medical area. So it would be pretty easy for you
