Since Romney has a "temple recommend" and is sworn to sustain and obey the church president, etc., Hinckley, who is the only one on Earth who has the direct line to God, imparts Gods current "message" and Romney must comply. So Hinckley would really be running the country? Does anyone know what Hinckley says about past prophets predicting the fall of the U.S.?

Another of the many differences between the Pope and the mormon pres. is the Pope will tell you there is one God. The Mormons will say "I don't know" or "we don't concern ourselves with that" or distort the bible and say "the bible says there are many lords and gods, with a small g". But their literature, not meant for outsiders who "can't handle the meat before the milk" as they say, clearly states all good mormons will become a God, they are polytheist and look forward to a return to polygamy as well. They use Christian words, but give them different meanings. I don't care how weird they are, they are deceptive. Dishonesty is always dangerous.

Another failed prophecy of Joseph Smith : "While discussing the petition to Congress, I prophesied, by virtue of the holy Priesthood vested in me, and in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that, if Congress will not hear our petition and grant us protection, they shall be broken up as a government, and God shall damn them, and there shall be nothing left of them — not even a grease spot." (Millennial Star, Vol. 22, p. 455. See also History of the Church (HC), vol. 6, p. 116, though when this prediction was incorporated into the official history, Mormon Church leaders decided to leave out the "grease spot" part.)
Another J Smith failed prophecy re the fall of the U.S. is found in History of the Church, Vol. 5, page 394.
The Christian bible says God, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one, the Holy Trinity. the mormon bible says they are not one, they are the godhead and separate. The Christian Paul believes there is one God. Mormons Paul does not.

Obviously mormons claim followers have free will re voting. But they do not deny that a true Mormon is duty bound to do whatever the pres. of the LDS church tells him to do, if the pres. says God told him this thing must be done, the true mormon will do it.
When the mormons come to the door with their "gospel" presentation, they mention an apostasy claim their prophet restores the true Teachings of Jesus. Of course, these ‘restored' teachings are completely false. They are talking out of their hat, pun intended. Nevertheless, the Mormon church clearly condemns other religious systems. Their founder claims God said all other religions are wrong and "all their creeds were an abomination in His sight: that those professors were all corrupt" as noted in mormon teachings called History of the Church (Vol. 1, page 5-6) Those Mormons who complain about poor treatment should familiarize themselves with their teachers' words. They should look at the real King James Bible, not JS version.

It's *not* the same as a catholic president.
The mormon church demands obedience to the current "prophet," the catholic church does not demand that the pope be obeyed in every pronouncement.
The mormon church believes in a prophecy spoken by an earlier church president, who said, "the US government will hang by a thread" and that the mormon church would take it over to save it.
As a faithful mormon, Romney believes that polygamy is the only true form for marriage (it's practice has just been temporarily suspended to comply with US law, but will be restored according to the church); he believes that "god" was once a regular guy like him, who did good and so got his own planet to populate and run, and that if he's a good mormon Romney will get the same reward; he practices secret signs, handshakes, and passwords in the temple that are derived from Masonic rituals and that include signs that show ways life will be taken if the secrets are revealed...and much more.
All religious people are delusional -- the mormons are just more delusional than many others. That this guy actually believes this nonsense makes him unfit to make decisions that require clear thinking, logic, and reason -- and unfit to be president of anything.
Peace.

No dear you are dishonest. Hinkley is our leader, and therefore in our view has the keys to the kingdom. As you ask a mormon would say I don't know who is God?
God the Father, The Son & The Holy Ghost and they make up the Godhead. That is biblical. As Paul says there are Lords many and Gods many but to us there is only One and all things go through him and by him. The U.S. will not fall, you are lying again without any source documents to back you up. Mormons live good lives and want every human being on earth to fulfill his potential to God. Please don't speak with a fork tongue like the demon you are.
Ignorant, bigoted people like you show how christlike some people will not ever be.

As for politics our leaders have said you can vote for anybody you want to..we have free will...we aren't brainwashed and we aren't robots.

and Most of all: WE DON'T TALK ILL OF OTHER RELIGIONS.

That's like saying when a Catholic's president the Pope runs the country when in reality the Pope doesn't care. They are only religious leaders. They can't make people listen to them.

Why does anyone care that he's Mormon? What happened to equal opportunity? What happened to religious freedom? The number of Mormons in the U.S. is growing. It was only a matter of time. Why does everyone assume that because he's a Mormon he's going to push a Mormon agenda. There are many Catholic politicians who are Liberal while the Catholic Church is extremely Conservative.

I'm not a Mormon and I believe Mormonism is dumb but America needs to have a reality check. Do you honestly think congress would let him pass anything Mormon? No. The only time I'd be worried is when we have a Mormon Congress. Then I'd say it's the end of the world.

If you're gonna vote for someone just because of their religion instead of who you think could run the country best you're dumb. The presidential race is not about religion and Mitt Romney should have never had that religious conference. Why should he have to throw his religion to the lions even if it is dumb?

Oh really, that's the whole reason the guy wants to be president, to force Mormonism on us all. I'd be more worried about the secret societies our top politicians are in.

I think he should re-think his given name. Where I come from, a "mitt" is a woollen hand protector attached by a string to another mitt that sticks out the sleeves of a kid's snowsuit! Imagine what "Mitt" means in other countries around the world!

Gordon B. Hinckley has advised us to vote for who ever we feel is good and right for our county,
He has enough to do trying to run Gods government on this earth, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Off hand I would say Congress and the House of Representatives, same as before. Why does everybody have this hangup about his religion?

What scares me is if he is president. How many people will convert to the Lie of Mormonism, thinking it is the truth.
