Guys are clumsy with the I love yous, but this guy sounds especially insecure and you're right to not respond to this. The guy sounds like a head case - don't get involved.

What happened?

He is a player and a scrub. That's all there is to it.

He'll *do anything* and *say anything* to get attention/sex from any girl, that's all he cares about. He is almost *never* serious about anything he says. His strategy is to "go to work" on a girl, keep bugging her, flattering her, keep playing to her doubts and insecurities. Then, once she decides to actually open up to him, he'll take what he wants and probably move on. Feelings are not important to him.

Sounds like he wants you to say you love him to so he can get into a relationship with you. Which, I don't think you want to and you are very smart for questioning his words and not saying it back.

All guys want to be liked by a girl. If they know a girl does, they feel better about themselves. Whether it's ego or love.

I think he's messing with your head. Politely tell him that you do not appreciate his use of the words "I love you" if he does not really mean them. If he does it again, ignore it. Is it worth it to be hurt by someone you already know is a player?

you are driving yourself crazy..what do you mean he forced you? put a gun to your head? you fancy him and he knows it and you are being played. he probably telling others what he's doing to you. stop putting yourself in this position or you'll end up with total humiliation. you can't tame him or change him..learn now and save yourself years of heartache. Think about the kind of relationship you'd like to have for the future and make plans for that...this guy doesn't even like girls

Well, he thinks he likes you, but players aren't that good at knowing what they really want.
He ment to ask you out, but did it in a really messed up way, so he's kinda shy and immature, too.
But I don't really know him, so maybe he was just playing around, but I don't think so.

he probably got denied earlier that night, need some reassurance, decided to play with you to boost his confidence. I have a friend that did the same thing. He was using you to cope with a possible recent rejection ..

Daftness can cause confusion! Call him or go see him and tell him that U love him if that's how you really feel. He's put himself out there twice so far and you've rejected him twice, how dumb are you?!

You said it early in your note - he is a player - move on to someone that will care!
