Actually yes he is mentioned by the historian Josephus in his "The Antiquities of the Jews, and in the Buddhist scrolls of the chronicals of the kings of Kashmir.
He was real but a lot of folk tales have arisen around him..!!

cummon the bible was written by PEOPLE 2000 years ago lol their imagination and wanted to answer many questions with answers they didnt know. So they basicly wrote a fairy tale which happened to be soo popular millions worship a story today. Also if the bible is real we dont need to worry bout anything or even go into space and discover things seeing as the bible tells us how the world was made in 7 days and stuff. Jesus is as real as Harry Potter. Plus have u noticed every writing of Jesus is in the past tense? If he was this special why didnt people write about him when he was alive and not after thousands of people were said to of seen him and no scholars or people writing of meeting Jesus and what he did in but we do off ancient egyptians?????

You have to listen more to yourself and what your gut tells you than what other people say. There's nothing wrong with hearing different opinions, but faith is something that comes from within and from finding God. Just the fact that you're asking if Jesus is real shows you are at least somewhat interested in the possibility. If that's the case, do some research, read the bible, go to church... you can form your OWN opinion after gaining some knowledge. God bless.

There is one question here but many of the answers try to answer two questions, and often mix them together. As far as the existence of the man Jesus goes, there is sufficient documentary evidence outside the bible to make it fairly certain that he was a real person. The other question is what his significance was, and that is a much harder one to answer!
So the answer to the question actually put is "As much proof as there is for the existence of many other historical characters, eg Socrates and many others".

The Roman records DO NOT show any record of a Jesus Christ. There is an account of a prophet named Yeshua (Joshua, in Greek) that was crucified. I cannot believe all the people trying to prove existance by quoting from books written hundreds of years after the fact.

Yes he does. He healed me of Blindness and Cerebral Palsy
What do you think about that is that proof for you?!
Go and read John chapter 9 and Luke 13 verse 11 onwards in the Bible then ask this question again.

Jesus is mentioned in a couple of Roman books, there is little doubt about that.
However there is a big difference in some guy called Jesus knocking about and the seem geezer being the son of god!
That would be one hell of a leap of faith!
You shouldn't believe that the bible is proof, it is like a United fan writing down how fantastic United are.... not compelling facts I think you would agree!

Most nations use the year 2007 as the calendar year. Even China, even though they still have their own calendar. Christ died 2007 years ago. We use 2007 AD, which is after death, [ the death of Jesus ]. History books refer to anything happening before his birth as BC. [ Before Christ , before Christianity.] We don't use Buddha or Mohammed as a measure for the whole world. Just Jesus! The calendar started over with the death of Jesus, and that's good enough for me.

There are the gospels and Paul's letters, but beside that their is only one mention of Jesus in the 1st century, which was by a Jewish Historian named Josephus. Josephus has been known to be extremely reliable and extremely unreliable, though.

I don't think anyone has actual proof of Jesus Christ's being, but it's who people see him that truly matters. Christians believe & worship him. Non Christians are non believers such as Jews. Jews believe in Jesus Christ, but they don't beleive he is the son of God. They believe he was born to Mary & Joseph & thatr he was king of the Jews at one time. Otherwise, Jews do not celebrate him as they do not associate him with God. I suspect many other non Christian religions think similar, but the knowledge that Jesus Christ even even loved is just common knowledge. I have never met a minister or a Priest who could confirm that Jesus ever existed, but with the Bible & other references, it seems very factual. No different than Benjamin Franklin, but no one in this world has affirmation as it's too long ago.
I have asked a lot of religious people & I suggest you do the same. You'll surely get some intersting concepts & it never hurts to ask.
I hope this helps even a little.
HAVE A GR8 DAY!!
