For the longest time my boyfriend was without a cell phone yet he always called me promptly. Now that he has a cell phone he doesn't call as early as he says he will, or he won't even call at all. The last time we made plans, he never called to give me a time. I called him and he was doing his laundry! What is going on here?

say, "hey, what's up with you not calling me back anymore? i'm not trying to pick a fight, but i don't want to get ideas that you aren't as interested as you used to be."
if there are other things that make you think he's not as interested as he used to be, then maybe omit the last part. let him tell you on his own what's going on.
and remember, guys usually always say what they mean. don't try to find hidden messages.
the only reason why his answer would be confusing and lead you to decipher some hidden message is if he's straight up lying to you.

Just talk to him about it, He might not realize it is bothering you. Just tell him you need him to call when he says he will call and to uphold plans you have made. Talking to him is the only way to figure out whats going on! Good luck! I also wanted to add, maybe its his cell phone bill, I hardly ever answer or call on my cell phone because of the price, everyone gets mad about it but they dont have to pay my outrageous bills, just talk to him maybe its that?

that doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong. i can see why that would scare you, but sometimes letting your boyfriend breathe is a good thing. i'm not saying that he wants to break up, because he probably doesn't.
just respect his space! everyone's gotta do laundry sometimes, right?

maybe he doesn't know how to work his cell phone. ;)
i have a fancy cell phone and i couldn't tell you what 80% of it does.

That is something you have to discuss with him. He is the one who will have to tell you what is going on. You should discuss it with him. Tell him how you feel about him not calling.
