Perry is not a widely used term, so they say pear cider so you know what kind of drink you are getting ie something with alcohol in it.

Isn't pear cider just called perry? I usually think that I prefer pear to apple but every time I try pear I remember that I wrongly hold it in quite high esteem. However, as there is some truly horrible apple cider out there, inevitably there are some pear ciders which are nicer than some apple ciders. So, generally I prefer apple but pear makes a welcome change from time to time.

pear cider is an alcoholic beverage made of fermented pear juice. It is similar to cider, in that it is made using a similar process and often has a similar alcoholic content, around 8% alcohol by volume.

Pears and apples are quite similar. The exact same recipes and processes are used to make perry and apple cider. And the finished products are almost the same also.
Pear cider is exactly as the name implies, it's pear... cider...

Pear Cider is the cheapest form of cider. Frosty Jack is one of them. You can buy 3 ltrs for next to nothing, compared with an apple cider in price.

We used to make it from pears. An uncle had fruit orchards. It was pretty lethal. Perry, now made to a more acceptable standard.

Pear cider is another name for Perry, and it is incredibly cheap. Tesco sells it for 93p, its yummy. And the bottle looks exactly like a champagne bottle
