After you finish your service in the military and you move into civilian life does the military give you money to put down as a security deposit for a place to rent?

PLEASE...no military mumbo jumbo. All I'm asking is if I was in the military yesterday and today was the last day of my duty and from that point on, I was a civilian, does the military give me any money to put down as a secuirty deposit on a place to live?

No. The military doesn't ever just give you money. If someone's getting out of the military, they should already be saving money for the transition.

You get the same things as you would if you PCSed (thats when the military tells you to move) and thats all. If you blow that money partying, then its the person's fault. But the military will pay you dislocation like any PCS. Rent deposit is part of the what the dislocation pay is for.

Part of the money you get for a PCS is for a deposit. You have to manage the money they give you for your move. It is the same when you ETS (when you leave the military). You get paid like you would for a PCS and then thats all. They move your stuff for free and you get some money for dislocation. There is not money specifically for a deposit. You get a certain amount for the entire move.

no...and the reason there are so many homeless vets...it's cause they choose to be homeless...this is America we make our own choices in life...if you are homeless you probably didn't take advantage of the opportunities available
