Go to the science category. This is off topic. It is not about religion.

Evolution is the theory that current species have all decended from other species through a process of random change, adaptation, and inheritance of changes.
We should not believe in evolution because it is a scientific theory, and belief has no place in science. You can study evolution, look for evidence, try to refute it or find alternative explanations of the evidence. You can apply the theory by using it to develop hypotheses about many aspects of biology and to think of ways to test those hypothesis. You can convince yourself that it is the best explanation to explain how we got here. You can do a lot of things with it but you should never BELIEVE it.

A theory in the scientific community is not just a guess. A theory is an educated idea that can be tested for truth.
Yes, Darwin was right. Evolution is a proven theory by a huge fossil record and extensive testing.

No belief is necessary, it's a scientific theory, not some cult dogma. It would be difficult to explain the entirety of evolutionary theory in this forum. I would direct you to Dawkin's "The Ancestor's Tale" as a starting point, then read Gould's "The Structure of Evolutionary Theory". Those books should provide you with a clearer understanding of the science of evolution.

It's true, alot of people do not believe it, or that it is a theory, but fossils and observable behavior in animals and plants proves that it is true. I'm fine with the 'theory' brand it seems to have achieved, but I do think that after such a vast amount of proof it seems to be the most plausable explination by, oh about 6000 years.
It is the idea that an animal or plant through natural selection, becomes suited to a situation. Different characteristics change, are created and are enhanced through the continual useage, their success and the ability to pass on the usefull genetic material to their offspring.
Religion gives us a limited run down of an uneducated guess about how things appeared, acrediting it to an almighty creator so as to explain itself and lend weight to their deity's powers. This flys in the face of scientific study and research.

Evolution is a fairy tell. Once upon a time there was an explosion, and that somehow resulted in the most ordered thing you could, the universe.
Then on a little clod of mud, somehow, a single cell formed from some goo.
This single living cell divided into more living cells, and even though they were clones different ones turned into different things.
Then after gazillion years, a small ape like creature had a baby that was more human-like than ape. This baby chose a mate that was also human like, and "voila" the first human!
The end.

Evolution is true, it's a scientifically provable fact.
It's acceptable because it's a logical and observed explanation for the breadth of nature on earth.
I for one believe it.
