The statement "Love your enemy" doesn't make any sense. If you love him/her, then s/he is no longer your enemy, is s/he? Unless, of course it is a one-way enmity. But then, it wouldn't be "your" enemy anymore, would it?

Hate doesn't have room in noble hearts, is not a matter if Christ said that or not, it is a spiritual way to be in peace with oneself, Yes Satan is among the groups of enemies, and the fact you forgive or love him, doesn't necessary means you have to follow his evil doctrine. All what don't represents the natural way of the existence, in a natural way shall be selfdestructed somewhere.
The natural universal laws, don't allow the perpetual existence of wrong things.
The natural equilibrium of the universe and everything contained in have to be in perfect harmony.
Love your enemy is not a doctrine, instead, must be a firm belief in the tolerance that everybody must keep inside the conscience. In the universe is a place and a time for everything and nothing last forever.
How could you know the kindness if you do not know the wickedness.

"Hate your enemy" is a doctrine of self-loathing which belies a pathology of low self esteem, depression and suicide wish. Look at the people in prison. They hate everyone. Do they have high self esteem? Do they never get depressed? Are they never suicidal?
Lets look at muslims...if they loved their enemies do you think we would have the conflict we have today? Do you think 9/11 would've happened? Do you think the 1000s of people that die at their hands would've died?

Jesus loved his enemies and i dont think he suffered from any of these, he was obviously dissapointed by the actions of Judas and others which he foresaw but he still saves all who come to him, according to what i understand of christianity. i dont think even satan is an exception

The verse is misunderstood by Christians, its talking about personal enmity between people .. not a general enemy (an enemy of the religion or the nation) .. what did the bible say about the later?
Psa 6:10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashame suddenly.
Psa 83:17 Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace,
---------
Understanding it in this way makes the teaching of christianiy identical with islam on that regard:
Qur'an 41:34 Nor can Goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: then will he between whom and thee was enmity become as it were thy friend and intimate!

Sneaky, very sneaky !!! lol
I like how God Himself views the evil one: a trampled corpse, fallen and mocked by its worshippers, a covering of worms and dung, and (here's a biggee) it's name will be wiped from memory - on the earth and in heaven.
Just as we should wipe from memory the monsters who do mall / subway / suicide murders; and celebrity's who died as heathens / junkies / and suicide.
No, love your enemy is the doctrine of the: higher moral order of man / woman, it requires a solid identity and a sound self esteem. To absorb evil (via love) is an exalted experience and negates depression. And, where on earth (or, more likely, under the earth - think chlonic) did you get a hidden suicide wish !!!
I'll bet you got it from the history of the martyrs !! They could have wept, begged and groveled before going to the wild beasts, devices of torture and other cruel means of death: But, being of a higher morality and integrity - they faced their death with aplomb and class. May I point out: someone hated them enough to make them their 'blood sport'. May they be judged (at Christ judgment seat) as a goat and condemned to - I really like this phrase, it says sooo much -
EVERLASTING SHAME AND CONTEMPT

Loving the enemy will get you killed by the enemy. And loving Satan will get you sent to hell. As for the second question anyone who loves the enemy has issues.

Loving your enemy does not entail total acceptance of them and their choices. It involves wishing them well, within God's prescription for living appropriately. God, through Christ, instructed us to abhor the sin, but love the sinner. Hating another only takes us further from God, by failing to follow Christ's example. God created Satan, but he chose to go against God. He sought to BE God, and has never repented. He is therefore not of God's family and has lost God's love. For this reason, he is one enemy that we are not instructed to love. In answer to your second question, "Love your enemy" is contrary to self-loathing; you can't love others, if you don't love yourself. If there is no love inside of you, you have none to give away.

You are not a truth seeker. You only hear what you want to.
.... but just incase you are open, 1st. Q=No, It's pretty clear that Jesus was referring to human beings.
.... 2nd. Q=No, Your using eloquent language to make such a emotionally immature and illogical claim is much like carrying feces on a silver platter. That's one of the farthest jumps in reason and theory I have ever seen. Congrats! -Love your enemy: is a command to do unto others as I (Jesus) have done for you. ("I forgave you when you were my enemy, so do likewise") and avoid being a hypocrite. I'll pray for your eyes to be open. (See, me loving you)

Loving your enemy has nothing to do with how you feel about yourself. It's about placing the needs, feelings and thoughts of others before your own. It's the ultimate in human virtue.
