Actually this is a great question- but something came to me as I was reading it- if we are living our life in honor of Christ, everyday there should not be a huge paradigm switch, from what we did before December. However I do read advent devotions- just because some of them are great ways to focus on Christ. However again- God does not appreciate sacrifice as much as obedience- so we are obeying and loving God the rest of the year, then we should be prepared.

well christmas really is only sacred to those who celebrate it. it's not sacred to God or Christ, it's a pagan holiday.
Christians refrain from any celebrations or customs that continue to involve false religious beliefs or activities that violate Bible principles. For example, the Bible definitely puts birthday celebrations in a bad light. (Genesis 40:20; Matthew 14:6-10) However, if it is very obvious that a custom has no current false religious significance and involves no violation of Bible principles, each Christian must make a personal decision as to whether he will follow such a custom.
What do you know about Christmas? Is the celebration of Christ’s birth supported in the Bible? What is behind this popular celebration held every December 25th?
The Origin of Christmas

The New Catholic Encyclopedia acknowledges: “The date of Christ’s birth is not known. The gospels indicate neither the day nor the month . . . According to the hypothesis suggested by H. Usener . . . and accepted by most scholars today, the birth of Christ was assigned the date of the winter solstice (December 25 in the Julian Calendar, January 6 in the Egyptian), because on this day, as the sun began its return to northern skies, the pagan devotees of Mithra celebrated the dies natalis Solis Invicti (birthday of the invincible sun). On Dec. 25, 274, Aurelian had proclaimed the sun-god principal patron of the empire and dedicated a temple to him in the Campus Martius. Christmas originated at a time when the cult of the sun was particularly strong at Rome.”

M’Clintock and Strong’s Cyclopœdia says: “The observance of Christmas is not of divine appointment, nor is it of N[ew] T[estament] origin. The day of Christ’s birth cannot be ascertained from the N[ew] T[estament], or, indeed, from any other source.”
In view of the above, should genuine Christians share in Christmas traditions? Is it pleasing to God to fuse his worship with the religious beliefs and practices of those who do not worship him? The apostle Paul warned at Colossians 2:8: “Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not according to Christ.”

Sacred holiday? LoL. Last time i checked, Christmas was a pagan ritual/tradition. I think they somehow penetrated christianity to make people practice paganism without knowing what they are doing. Don't get mad or blame me, satan did it.

December 25th is just another day for me.

Where I live, that's what most of the population thinks too.
Come to think of it, seeing it's a Tuesday, I might be having an Entomology exam then. Gotta check!

Answer: I strive to keep the founding concepts of peace and love for my fellow man in my heart every day of the year.
Please understand that to me...12/23...is Solstice...Yule Y'all!
The concepts and logic of faith are some what universal in intent, so be it with you and I.
Blessings, and light for both our paths...they seem very much alike.

The same things I try to do all year around, be giving and kind. Help others. Pray, Fast. I tell Jesus Thank you, which I do everyday but... it wouldn't hurt an extra time.

Friend, we should spiritually prepare ourselves for every day. But certainly there is nothing wrong with extra prayer, extra fasting, extra devotion on certain days.

god bless

I pray each day and focus on the Lord Jesus Christ. Celebrating Him always, not just for an end of the year sale.

I think of the many blessings that God has given to me. I read the gospel story and reflect on what Jesus did for me.
Thank you for reminding us of the sacredness of this time of year.

I appreciate your kindness.

I read the story of His birth, in the bible, and pray about it.

Sometimes we use an advent candle wreath, but not this year.
