Muslims are looking for the return of the Mahdi who will unite the world under an Islamic government, rule for seven years, and kill those who don't believe in Mohammed.

Christians are expecting the appearance of the Anti-Christ who will unite the nations of the world, rule for seven years, and kill the Christian believers.

Same person?

Maybe that is God's original intent I wont make a definite call on whether they are the same because I don't really know honestly...They look a lot alike! For something good there's always a counterfeit it's like money you have the worthy and then you have the fake ....Good and evil God intended both to work for the good of mankind to accomplish his purpose and will ..It was said to be that way before the foundation of the world.. If you study the old testament you will find this to be true! I did

I believe the worlds system is our anti Christ because the word tells us that many will come..For instance atheism is anti Christ they are without belief and then you have individuals
like Iran's nutty extremist dictator... I would consider him an Anti Christ on a mission to divide and conquer.. There are so many warnings about it not being fit for the kingdom of God..

I think that some things that are taught are missing the context of the true meaning and have been somewhat misconceived which brings delusions to the truth...

I'm a muslim. The Imam Mahdi story is not from qur'anic verses. It comes from hadith (which might not be true).

And the story goes that later, Jesus will come and become the ma'mum (the one who follow imam in congregational prayer) and acknowledge Imam Mahdi as the leader.

Interesting. I didn't know the Muslims believe in the return of Mahdi. I do believe the latter. Who know's if it's the same human body, but we know it's the same devil.

I think the biggest coincidence here is all the anti-Islamic sentiment and the number of christians on here.
Is it any wonder there's enmity between christians and muslims?
The catholics kicked it all off a few hundred years ago, and now all their neighbours are kicking their doors in and pulling them before an inquisition.
I'm not a muslim, but seeing as there's nobody here to stick up for them, I'm gonna play "Devil's Advocate" against the criticism.

In a lot of ways, I think that Mohammad tried to copy the Christian belief and brand it with his own flavor so it makes perfect sense that they're waiting for someone too.

I agree with Canadian Atheist on this one.
There are so many stories in the Bible that have an exact same story with different characters in other beliefs that I stopped counting the similarities.

Compare that with the Christian dogma which says that the return of Christ will be accompanied by wars, famine, disease and elimination of anyone who doesn't subscribe to their bankrupt religion. Coincidence?

The Abrahamic religions are based on idiotic dogma and lies.

The coincidence is that any religion that claims to be the only way to God is a lie.
