has anyone had inter-ocular lens implants? i just had one 3 weeks ago, it is performing well, and will get my other eye done in 7 weeks. i am/was very near-sighted at -14 diopters of correction. i am in an FDA study to approve a new type of lens. it is similar to a cataract type lens replacement. thank you

I hit -14.00 in the worst meridian of my worst eye
(I'm only -7.00 to -10.00 in my best one!)

I've generally been happy with glasses, but now I'm losing my accommodation I'm going to deal with my Rx, in due course, opting for clear lens replacement in four or five years when I have little useful accommodation.

Personally I'd rather wait, and have the standard cataract-replacement lenses, rather than the additional anterior chamber implant, but take a young person with that Rx I can easily see the factors tipping the other way.

I haven't seen any data, but I'd imagine having an a/c implant would make later cataract surgery at least a little more complex.
Otherwise the risk factors seem no higher than for normal cataract surgery, and the benefits are obvious!
