I have a friend who like me is a teacher. She had a very horrible childhood. Her mother was a drug addict and her father was not around. Her parents had 3 children. She is only 25 and the oldest of the 3 siblings. She put herself through school and help to raise the other 2. The youngest is only 16. They have different fathers, but the same mother. Well the 16 year old had been living with his father and the father's prostitute girlfriend. He had been living in squalor unbeknownst to his sister whom he visited and painted a lovely picture. Each time the sister gave him gifts or food to take home. The father's girlfriend would steal from him and sell the food or clothing for drugs. He never told his sister about this. Until it was too late. This young man took the law into his own hands and killed the girlfriend of his father and is now about to be tried as an adult. This boy had never commited a crime, but his life had been a crime. The family is asking for prayers that

he not be tried as an adult. Which the State of New Jersey plans to do. They'd like to see him tried as a juvenile. They know he committed a heinous crime and are not denying that. They just feel he should be tried as a child, since he is a child. Will you please pray for him?

Semper... How tragic. Just another victim of a world filled with not enough God fearing people. Not only will I pray for him, as well as his family, I will place him on our prayer list at church. Dear Father God, please hear our prayers. We ask that it be your will that is done in this young man's life. We know that you have a hand on the situation, and that you already know the outcome of every situation before it takes place. Please Father, place your hand upon him and your loving grace and spirit around him. Give him and his family the strength they will need as they deal with that which is ahead of them. Father, we just give you all the praise and the glory, and we know that we have so much to be thankful for, even as we know that we are unworthy of the many and varied blessings you have bestowed upon us. We pray this all in the blessed and holy name of your son, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Absolutely! This poor young man was at his wit's end! Had he only told his sister what was going on, maybe something better would have come of it. Young people tend to paint a grand picture for the loved ones around them (Been there, done that!) so as not to cause worry and/or "trouble." It's a very sad world we live in sometimes. I will pray for this young man and his family....and also for all the other unfortunate people in similar situations. God Bless!

Wow, that is a really moving exerpt from real life. We all have to remember that if one asks that God forgives all. He does need our prayers but you must remember that the situation is in God's hands now. He will be in my prayers. But...we must also pray for the victim's family. There are always two losing sides in killings.
I will pray for both families.
God is Love!!!!!

I understand the whole situation and know how that brother must have felt.
Sometimes, people just put up with things until it just becomes too much and they can't deal with it anymore. I am sorry and sad for the 16 year old.
I will pray for him and for everyone involved.

Attention everyone! This good man has asked for our help in praying for someone. Are we going to turn a deaf ear? or are we going to say that we will pray and then not do it? We should help him pray, we can help him pray, and by the grace of God we will help him pray.

I'm an atheist, so I won't pray, but I do have an idea. You may already be doing this, but a petition may help. If you can get the word out and ask for as many signatures as possible and submit that to the court it may aid in his representation. Also, I would try to contact the news agencies to see if they would be willing to show the other side of the issue-especially if they are washing it as another teen who blatantly kills another for no reason.
Just some ideas.
