Too late Bill. I usually don't drink and believe me I am regretting it now, I wont be doing it again for at least another year

Why would I get killed in an auto accident or take the life of a child, I took a taxi to the party and got a lift home with a designated driver. I HAVE a child of my own, no way would I ever risk the life of somebody elses!

you want a quick fix, but the bad thing about alcohol is there is no quick fix. Try the realization you made a bad choice, and now must suffer the consequences. Just be glad you didn't get killed in an auto accident or worse...kill someones child or take the life of a child's parent.

Maybe your tolerance is so low to alcohol from not drinking that you got drunk faster than everyone else - so you know you drank at their speed but i'm not sure.

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL - it's 3.20pm where I am and I was so drunk last night. I have just managed to get some sleep but only ten minutes.

I drink water, and have stomach cramps but im having an iced lolly. I suggest you read something dull to wind down.

I take anti-sickness tablets after drinking all the time, it's fine they are very effective and very safe. I'm a student nurse so I wouldnt do something crazy. They say dont take paracetamol/acetaminophen cos it hurts your liver but its a load of tripe. You're not going to get cirrhosis from some paracetamol, even extreme alcoholics with delirium tremens can have fine livers!

Just take what you need to, have a nice long sleep and wake up tomorrow feeling great.

Try reading some websites on something quite complicated that usually works LOL. Try learning basic chemistry and you'll be out like a light :D

We have websites for everything these days!!!

http://www.hangoverreview.com/hangover_tips/

Let's investigate some popular remedies:

- A cold shower:
Taking a cold shower to sober up is not good advice; it will further the decrease of your body temperature caused by alcohol; and stumbling around a wet bathroom when drunk is not advised.

- Exercise:
Also known as "sweating it out". Exercise may make you feel better while you are working out, but it doesn't speed up the metabolism of the alcohol, so the likelyhood is that you will end up drunk and tired.

- Vitamin B-1 (Thiamin):
Helps maintain normal functioning of the nervous system, muscles, and heart. Believed to reduce feelings of tiredness and depression, while increasing appetite and alertness.Taking this vitamin, or a multi-vitamin for that matter, may help your body return to normal functioning, but don't expect any miracles.

- Aspirin / Ibuprofen:
Used to reduce fever, inflammation, and the discomfort associated with headaches, injuries, and arthritis. Aspirin can be a stomach irritant, as can ibuprofen. Since alcohol can also upset your stomach, mixing the two may cause ulcers, bleeding, or other sensitive-stomach symptoms.

- Acetaminophen:
Similar to aspirin, although acetaminophen will not help with swelling or stiffness in one's joints. For many people, it is fine once in a while. However, if you have a history of liver or kidney disease, consult with your health care provider first. Over the long-term, combining alcohol and acetaminophen has been found to cause liver damage.

- Calcium carbonate:
Calcium carbonate is an antacid. Antacids help to treat the symptoms of heartburn and acid indigestion caused by the presence of too much acid in the stomach. They do not necessarily help with nausea. If you take certain prescription medications, talk with a health care provider first as they may interact with antacids. Alcohol inhibits the antacid from doing its job as well as it normally would.

- Caffeine:
Caffeine is a stimulant. Taking caffeine in tablet form, or simply drinking a cup of coffee might help relieve headaches and make you feel more energized as it is a vasoconstrictor. It diminishs or prevents headaches by reducing blood flow through your veins. Caffeine may irritate your stomach, worsening any existing queasiness. Caffeine, like alcohol, is a diuretic and as hangover symptoms are caused in part by dehydration so caffeine is not recommended as it may inhibit re-hydration.

- Avoidance:
Avoidance is absolutely, positively guaranteed to cure a hangover! The only sure fire way to never get a hangover is not to drink. If you don't drink you avoid all the chemical triggers that make hangovers the fun that they are.

I was having alot of anxiety before sleeping and could not fall asleep. Had many many sleepless nights.

I was just playing with the program one afternoon and wanted to listen to the Power Nap track. Next thing I knew I was waking up! Fell right asleep without trying. After using the Fall Asleep track, I could fall asleep right away. But I didn't realize that I shouldn't be using that one all night. Switched to Whole Night and have been using it ever since.

I can go to sleep with ease now. I just lay and listen to the sounds and next thing I know I am waking up from a nice sleep. I don't suffer from lack of sleep anymore. I keep an IPod with earbuds next to my bed and take it ALWAYS when traveling. The earbuds help block out ambient noise and the sleep tracks keep me sleeping sound :)

Reboot your brain & sleep soundly again?

when you wind yourself down, you will sleep ....maybe for 12-18 hrs (at least). You don't mention why you have been up for 48 hrs. Did you take something or drink too much soda? Sugar and caffeine will most definitely keep you awake. Can just lie down, get a peaceful book, and start reading. Adventures and Sci/Fi will keep you awake and excited. Read something that will be soothing and relaxing. Just lay there and read and relax. And imagine your entire body relaxing. Don't get up, just lie there quietly relaxing. This will definitely cause you to drop off if you lay there long enough.

toast helps me, just one or two slices, lie down, eat a tiny bit at a time, really calms my belly and the carbs at the end of a long, active night make me feel sleepy

also, a glass of water and a bowel or bucket by the bed. even if you dont want water now, you will eventually

i agree with the medication thing, pills and alcohol? no matter what that CANT be a good thing. also, dont take iburofen(sp?) if you have astmah

I have heard that drinking something with sugar (sweet) will dispell the sick feeling....do before sleeping...the alcohol depletes your sugar level and this cause the headaches....maybe some choclate milk.

Not a good idea to take medications after drinking....

Take 2 asprin and drink alot of fluids, gaterade, soda pop, it keeps you stomach working to flush out all that alchohol, take a shower to relax and also keeps your blood flowing all over your body making it burn more of that alchohol.

Oh I feel your pain! I would stick with asprin, a soak in a warm bath to relax you and that should help you sleep.
