My hair is pretty long (to the middle of my back) and its getting really hard to work with. Its very heavy and takes a long time to dry or straighten. I straighten it a lot, because when its natural its HUGE and unmanagable. Its got natural wave, so i really dont need any more body. I have TONS of hair. Its getting really annoying, and i would like to lighten it up and maybe thin it out a little bit. My hair is very fine, its just that i have to much of it that it goes all over the place. Should i go short with it? Im afraid with that i'll lose my curl. WHAT SHOULD I DO!? :)

I have the same problem, my hair is really thick and slightly wavy (only the bottom layer though! the top layer is straight... wtf?!)

I found that layers REALLY help, layers starting at around above the shoulder and layering down to your length. I would suggest maybe shortening the length a little bit, maybe a few inches (you say its in the middle of your back) Find a good stylist that is willing to consult with you beforehand and wants to texturize your hair. There ARE ways to thin it out with a simple haircut, but you need to find a stylist that will spend the time on you. It will cost more then say, hair cuttery, but its totally worth it in the end.

Also, since i cant afford salon priced shampoos, I use suave proffesionals that imitates Matrix's "sleek look". It comes in an orange bottle, and it really makes my hair smooth and my hair is more managable, whether i decide to straighten it or curl it. Also, they have this cream you put in before blow drying that really helps it be managable as well.

Good luck, it takes some playing around and experimenting to get it right.

Have it layered, and thinned out with a razor. That will get some of the fullness out, so if you leave it natural it won't look crazy. If you do go much shorter, you definitely will need to have it layered, or it will be too poufy at the ends.

I did lose some of my curl when I cut my hair short, and it looked very stupid growing out. I'd say chin-length. That's as short as I'll go anymore.

i have hair just like yours, and i got mine layered, but then you have to straighten it alot. I would thin it out, but not to much because you will lose your curl and wave.

Why not try a "step cut"? I think , this will suit you.Don't go for short or very short hair cut...ok? That won't go with your type of hair.
Good Luck

u should cut bangs (triangle bangs),
then keep ur first layer in the length of ur face(keep that straightened),
then keep ur last layer to ur back and deep curl it.
itll look good

oh my god, do no longer do something! people KILL for hair like yours, the reason it is not straightening stable is for the reason which you in all probability do no longer use a stable straightener. additionally, use some product in the past straightening and after. you ought to ask your hair dresser what i'm talking approximately.

after you get a shower make your hair in a bunch of little braids so it will look straight and you won't lose your curl.
