questions with unpopular points of view get deleted. Sometimes it is because a person is uncomfortable reading a certain point of view, and he can get you deleted by saying "It's not a question (or an answer)" which is usually nonsense. There are many ways to pose a question or phrase an answer.
The point is that a subject that is rightfully tolerated in Yahoo and other search engines, should not be deleted when it appears under Yahoo answers.
This is inconsistent policy by Yahoo where they do not allow you to delete from their search engine, but do allow you to get just about anything deleted from Yahoo Answers
How many of you are fair enough to agree that a policy of tolerance should be applied across the board?.
Remember: You may be a non-racist or a racist, a religious believer or an atheist, an abortionist or a non-abortionist and have your point of view deleted. WE ALL SUFFER if Yahoo has an inconsistent policy!

Yahoo provides a quick and easy way for its users to report things in Yahoo Answers that they don't like. There is nothing like this for the search engine. I think that the main reason that some views are deleted is because Yahoo may have hired a couple of fundamentalists that help run Yahoo Answers. The deletion is rather inconsistent, so I think that there may be several different administrator that have different views on different subjects.

It is much too easy for questions to be deleted on Yahoo Answers. I think that a new website that is similar to this should be started that isn't heavily censored. Enough people here dislike the censorship enough that they will probably switch over. As long as Yahoo has a monopoly on this type of forum, it will be much more likely to abuse the users.

A very good point indeed.
I even think that the whole process of giving notices is arbitrary and mechanical. It is sufficient that somebody says he feels hurt to get a notice.
Besides, the process is entirely undemocratic and another blame on Yahoo's record. Think about Yahoo and what they did in China.
But there is another problem. There are people whose lives are governed by statements that have no scientific or real proof. Other people accept only proof as fundamental to their view on the world. The former group tends to censorship and to feeling insulted when the latter asks for proof.
Example: for a rationalist it is the most normal thing in the world to ask for a logical explanation for somebody's belief, especially when the believers try to impose their beliefs on other individuals and on whole groups. For many believers this type of question comes as a shock. They feel that the rationalists try to take away something from them they have cherished and accepted all their lives.
The rationalist wants to investigate and doubt what other people believe, believers do not like this, fee insulted, but at the same time want to convince other people of their belief. I am afraid it has something of the cat and the dog. The dog wags his tail to show he wants to play. The cat wags its tail to hide when and from where it will attack.

Err...actually I run a few websites. Yahoo isn't really a search engine, it is a directory. They have to pro-actively list your site and they don't just routinely do that. They are actually one of the harder ones to list on. I know for a fact that they refuse sites based on content.

That is why I never use them to search with. Sites like Google and Webcrawler proactively look for sites. Yahoo doesn't.

I would never use the report button if it were not used on me so frequently for no reason.
