First, don't drink on an empty stomach. Eat a good, non-greasy meal before your party. Second, while you are drinking, you may want to eat some bread.
Good luck, hope you enjoy the party!

For anyone that recommends eating grease before drinking I have and experiment for you. Take a couple strips of bacon of a pound of ground beef and fry it up. In a shallow pan pour about a cup of your favor alcoholic beverage. Next pour the grease into the shallow pan being careful not to splash and burn yourself.
See, that disgusting mess? See how the alcohol and grease separate and make some nastiness? That is what happens when you eat a greasy meal before or after drinking.
Now, back to the actual question... Moderation. You don't need to slam as much alcohol as you can in order to get drunk. Even drink one beverage every 30 minutes will get you tipsy in about 1 and 1/2 hours. Drinking too much too fast is what causes you to toss your cookies.
Just follow these steps.
1. Moderation
2. Don't mix fruity drinks with milky drinks. The milk will curdle in your stomach and make you sick almost instantly.
3. Mix alcohol types all you want... just does it in moderation. All adult beverages contain the exact same alcohol. Wine, beer and every liquor out there all contain Ethonal alcohol. What makes people sick when mixing is that they tend to drink too much. Have a few beers take a few shots and over due it.
4. Eat a small amount of salty foods. Not exactly sure why this works... heard the explanation on the Discovery channel once, but the Russians have been doing for decades and it seems to work.
5. Water. Alcohol dehydrates you. Because of this your body views it as a poison. Drinking water after every couple drinks will help to keep you hydrated (preventing a hangover) and keeps your body from evacuating the poison.
I've spent many years studying alcohol and its effect on the human body. I won't call myself an expert by any means, but if there is anything that I do know it is how to keep my liquor down. I spend way too much on the good stuff in order to dump it in the toilet.

Alcohol mixed with sugars, such as soda or fruit juice are usually harder on the stomach than alcohol mixed with water or club soda. It is a good idea to replace an alcohol drink with a bottled water a couple of times during the evening. It is a good idea to have a meal prior to an evening out. The meal should not consist of mainly fried or greasy foods. If you have the opportunity to snack during the evening that is helpful as well.

Don't mix different alcohols. If you start drinking beer, stick with only beer the rest of the night. Don't switch to hard alcohol half way through.

Accept the inevitable and embrace the experience. Try eating something interesting, maybe beets, and check out the cool colors when it comes up.

have something in your stomach. It will also help if you stick to one certain beverage, instead of mixing several different.
