I drink a bottle of V8 (no salt!) in the morning to repeltish my vit. intake, them a nice tall glass of cold water. And then after all that i usually drink a soda for the caffine boost. Once my tummy feels better a light non greasy breakfast.

AND DONT TAKE ASPRIN IT WILL DISTROY YOUR TUMMY!! And maybe even cause liver failure. Scary. Ibprofen if you need it for the headache

Sadly there isn't a known cure for a hangover. There are some things you can do to reduce them however.

1. Drink water. Replace at least every few drinks with water. I've known people to alternate... One beer, one water, one beer, one water etc.

2. Eat a light salty meal. The Russians have known this trick for decades and I heard the explanation as to why it works on the Discovery Channel once, but I can't remember exactly why. This won't keep you from getting a hangover, or from getting drunk. It only helps with the symptoms.

3. Before bed, drink two pints of water and take two extra strength Advil or Tylenol. NOT ASPIRIN. Aspirin will rip your stomach a new one.

4. It you have some available, eat a banana to replace the potassium lost and take a B complex vitamin. Both are lost during drinking.

5. Avoid sports drinks, I know what you are thinking... they are mostly water, they do contain electrolytes.. They also contain loads of sugar and loads of salt. I know this kind of contradicts number 2, but the reason for eating the salty food is to keep your stomach full of something other than liquids and to settle it. Too much salt is bad and will dehydrate you even more.

6. Avoid greasy food. I wont go into a long description on this one, just imagine pouring bacon grease into a pint glass of beer. Not a pretty picture is it?

Good luck. Have fun. Don't drive.

"1 Sudafed, 2 Benedryl and 2 aspirins " Are you nuts? Never mix Benedryl with other meds and NEVER EVER mix it with alcohol. Aspirin and alcohol is a definite no-no, it will eat apart your stomach if done often.

The best way to handle the dehydration your body will suffer is to attempt to prevent its severity. If you drink a bottled water in between your alcohol drinks during the evening you will find the next day that you are not nearly as dehydrated. This is a very significant factor in the causes of a hangover. The potassium contained in one average yellow banana is very beneficial and usually quite helpful. Other than that, aspirin right before you go to bed after drinking and once again when you arise - if necessary.

This is what prevents a hangover for me:
Eat before drinking, and drink a lot of water in between drinks. Before you go to bed, take 1 Sudafed, 2 Benedryl and 2 aspirins (not Tylenol, it will hurt your liver). This keeps the headache away for me. I believe that the hangover is your body's allergic reaction to the alcohol. If I combat the allergic reaction in the first place, I never get a hangover.

If you're going for pills, make sure you don't go for any pain-killer. You want what is known as an NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug), such as Aspirin which helps reduce the inflammation (which is what is causing the headache), rather than just reduce the pain.

If your stomach is bad as well, this might not be such a great approach, since painkillers and NSAIDs tend to be a bit hard on the stomach. Also remember to stay hydrated - drink plenty of water even if you don't want to.

With a hangover, the headaches you get are caused by your brain losing water. DO NOT drink coffee if you have one, this dehydrates your brain even more. Also, it makes you pee more which makes you lose more water. Just have plenty of water to drink and take some painkillers if it is bad. Getting plenty of sleep also helps.

A cold greasy pork chop served in a dirty ashtray...........

!!

As everyone says, lots of water before during and after drinking. I always find a quarter pounder and chips a great cure the next morning, if I can eat the whole thing, I know I've survived !

Apparently dark colored alchol is suppose to cause more hang overs, and from experience, I agree.

If you have to throw up, do it. It's pointless to drink water so you can throw it up later. After you've gotten that crossed off your list, drink a bottle of water. If you really feel like you drank that much and don't have an urge to throw up, go for more water.
