If you are a true follower of Christ (Not necessarily a religion) every thing you do is affected. You monitor yourself. You want to stay away from all appearance of evil whether it be Movies, conversation, radio,tv programs
whatever......I want to keep the TRASH out
even some of the asked questions seem to be one thing and turn out to be another...asked purely to discredit the bible and the people in it.

No, because I trust my faith to always tell me what is truth. The reason why I do it is because information can be gained from anything. Be it a book on evolution or even atheism there is always some small bit of fact. Even if there wasn't I'd still read or watch it to get a different viewpoint.
Anyone who says otherwise has a very narrow viewpoint on the world at large and can never understand fully what is going on around them.
Also anyone who puts a Fox news link in their answer has got to be a little dingy. Think of what Fox airs Family Guy, Simpsons, and other shows like that (which are hilarious) and what Fox news airs which is mostly very rude anchormen/woman with a narrow viewpoint that is always right no matter what the topic is. News is supposed to be unbiased.
I think that God in general is very forgiving of sins. I don't think he would really care.

Well I went through a very long period of time (almost two years) with no TV or movies - convinced I was allowing my heart and soul to become polluted from the world; plus I was really struggling with sexual addictions and it was just way too much temptation for me then.
Now I have a better perspective, can set my own boundaries - and am free to watch whatever I choose. It's just that now - my choices are different!
So I guess the very short answer to your question is YES!

Yes, is does affect what you see and listen to.
When i becames a Christian i was convicted to get rid of all the movies and music i had of the world. i started to hate the very things God hates and love the very things God loves. I even got rid of cable! Wow think about that. Could you get rid of your cable if God told you to? What is more important your sin or God?\
God Bless!

Yes.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and we realise that Satan tries to catch us from any angle he can- if it's entertainment, he'll use that.
I try my best to avoid spiritistic and violent movies. The ones showing sexual immorality usually start out on a clean, romantic note, and before you know it, the scenes are dirty.
Some songs have clean lyrics, but the videos are something else. It's getting tougher and tougher to find wholesome entertainment nowadays.
God cares, very much.
Psalm 11:5- Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one, And anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates
Phillipians 4:8- Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well spoken of, whatever virtue there is and whatever praiseworthy thing there is, continue considering these things

Yes and there are no real "limits." A Christian is to give all of their life to God not just bits and pieces. In the words of St. Paul,"All things are lawful for me but not all are expedient." I choose what I feel is best for me and mine and sometimes that means choosing to limit what we watch.

I am agnostic, and therefore I dont listen to Christian music. Christian rock, or the church type songs, not at all. Some of the christmas songs that focus on religion I can tolerate, but only because its tradition and you just cant get away from it during the holiday season.

did you ever read any of the lyrics of music? and, as far as movies are concerned, oh, lets see murder, sex without marriage, using the lords name in vain. when I am at work I am forced to listen to satellite music but, on my own, I wouldnt listen to it. most movies I wont watch. And, yes God does care.

Definitely.
What we watch and listen to affects the way we think and eventually even behave.
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I would not watch or listen to anything violent, explicit, immoral etc ...... you get the picture.

Whatever a Christian believes in the heart and confesses with the mouth is what they will get in their lives. If they put trash in their minds it will eventually get into the heart and be spoken out of the mouth, and they will get trash in their lives.
