which country ???????
there are two types of region encoding- PAL and NTSC
As far as i know
Japan, HongKong , Singapore are NTSC
India PAL
Europe PAL
US, Canada NTSC
check ur PS3 for the type of encoding and see if it matches Aus.
Not to worry though. Lots of games out now like CoD4, warhawk, motorstorm are region free and can be played from anywhere. If ur region encoding is different then u need to import the games or buy region free games. Same with blue ray movies.

As i said earlier, u wont have much problem with the games as almost all of them are region free.If it is region encoded it will be mentioned on the box. My friend cant play his Resistance FoM, online( India -PAL) on his imported PS3 (US-NTSC)there may be a problem ONLY IF the game has a region encoding.
Most of the new blu-ray movies out now are region encoded and almost all of the future discs will be region encoded i guess. But this site has region free movie discs...

well... i used to have an asian version ps3 (which i bought from the philippines) and when i moved to the USA and started buying some games.... i couldn't play any of them..... here's what i noticed...

the games i bought from the US had a number on it on the side of the box right under the title of the games it looks like a small square and in the small square there's a number and a globe....

the games i bought from the philippines didn't have any such number..... so i sold my asian version and bought a US version and the games i bought from the philippines played on it....

so i guess its all about the number on the side of the box.... thts the region code...

No it does not artwork. it incredibly is because of the fact video games from diverse areas have diverse 'formats'. From Europe, a pastime could be in pal format. And from the U. S., NTSC format. it would purely artwork on A.) an American-introduced console, or B.) in u.s.. it would be a waste of money.

I own US PS3 (NTSC U/C) in Europe (PAL too). All my PAL PS3 games work. PAL PS1/2 games and movies won't.
