I guess I wasn't understood previously. I didnt hide information. I just forgot, it was an honest mistake.

I was at MEPS and leaving for basic training the day a charge I forgot to mention was found. I swore in at meps, but was never sent to basic. I was told I can enlist again in 6 months, so basically I was discharged, I'm assuming. I got hit with a fradulent enlistment, but it was a honest mistake. I have a GED, and 3 misdemeanors.

A domestic battery when I was 16, which I forgot to mention. Did a years probation.

Failure to appear/open house party. I was 18. Had to pay like 300$ fine.

Battery when I was 19. Did 8 weeks anger management, paid a fine of like 150 bucks.

My recruiter informed me that the battalion commander will approve me or disapprove me.My recruiter said on a scale of 1-10, the chances of me getting approved is an 8

Deep insight would be appreciated. I'm hopeful to be able to serve my country, its always been a dream. What are my chances to get in?

ok first lets break this down:

your domestic battery is a Serious Criminal Misconduct (felony)
failure to appear is a misdemeanor i assume you were additionally charged for the house party which is also at least one more misdemaenor.
battery is a misdemeanor, you probably did your anger management at a physcologist or other mental health facility. that constitutes seeing a mental health doctor which has to be addressed.

so were at 1 felony, 3 misdemeanors, and a court ordered mental health eval.

IAW AR601-210 Chpt 4-24 (p)
4-24. Nonwaiver medical, moral, and administrative disqualifications
The following disqualifications cannot be waived:

p. Person with a civil conviction of a serious criminal misconduct with any one of the following:
(1) Three or more offenses (convictions or other adverse dispositions) other than traffic.
(2) Applicants with juvenile serious criminal misconduct offenses who have had no offenses within 5 years of application for enlistment may be considered for a waiver in meritorious cases without regard to 4—24r.

if you dont fall into the 5 yr period i wouldnt have wasted my time.

but i would trust the recruiter im sure he has more insight into this than what you have listed.

First of all, you have to volunteer to go into the JROTC program in school...they don't just put you there. Second, your so-called 10% of soldiers who get a degree is BS. Why would the Army spend so much money on programs such as CONAP, TA, and even award college credits based on the training you recieve, to just give 10% of soldiers a degree? It's all about the person. Not the Army. YOU are the domestic terrorist myself and all other soldiers in every branch of the armed services protect. So the next time you go out with your communist friends to go exercise the very amendment we protect, remember that you are the example of what we have done. Have you ever looked at the jobs the Army offers? These aren't entry level jobs. How do you know they were innocent? Did you see who they were? No. We all have the right to say what we want. I'm just upset that people want to bad mouth something they've never even seen. By all means, please reply.

Ok here is the deal...you need to get that domestic changed. Go back to court and ask the judge to reduce it to something else...you cannot be in the military with a domestic violence charge...period! People with a domestic are not allowed to carry a weapon...which you must do in the Army...so you have to get rid of that one or else there is no way to get in. I have no idea how you "just forgot" about some charges...your recruiter is supposed to run your record long before you ever go to MEPs and delt with it then.

i dont know if the military will help you get your sh it together or if they are making a mistake by giving you a gun and teaching you how to use it. Seems to me like its not your fault. They should have done a background check before you even went to MEPS. Good luck, you will probably be fine because you have no felonies.

The military does not like people who LIE.....or FORGET......
They will excuse many things if you are honest......but lying / "forgetting" (?) says more about your character than the crime itself.
Your recruiter is correct......it is up to the Commander.....you better pray he got some last night...... or you wont get any this morning

What's your question? You're recruiter does this every day. You have no reason not to believe him on this one.
