If you have a PS3 which im guessing you do. Just check your owners manual in how to change HDD's. I followed those steps and i dont know jack about hdds, I guess until now. I purchased a 120gb SATA 2.5" hdd off of newegg.com i think i payed 80-100 dollars (make sure it says SATA 2.5" hdd). I am very happy in my decision to upgrade hdd's. If in fact you do not want to unscrew the little panel where your hdd is to take it out and replace it, then i suggest a external hdd that plugs up into one of your usb ports.

About the cost of a laptop SATA 2.5 inch hard disk if you know exactly how to do it. About £60 these days.

Or you pay out for a Sony disk in its special caddy which will cost you a bit more but it will be much more convenient and won't invalidate your warranty.

Any SATA 5400RPM 2.5" will do the job.
