I call them ''seasonal Muslims'' in lack of a better term, but I'm sure you get the meaning. Here's one example (and 80% of Muslims in my country are like that): I have a co-worker who is Muslim and who doesn't drink alcohol during Ramazan (please understand that Muslims in my country are not practising ones) but he gets drunk for Eid and parties for 3 days.

I know that alcohol is forbidden in Islam - completely. He knows that too. I'm not trying to make you judge his actions. My question would be - between those two ''evils'' which one is more hypocritical? I mean if he can refrain himself from drinking for 30 days, why not respect those 3 days of Eid and remain sober? I just don't get it.

By the way, Eid Mubarak in advance! :) Hope you enjoy it with your loved ones.

Actually, Blue, you're wrong. I invite you to become my contact and check out my best answers or my other questions addressed at Muslims. I have great respect for Islam and I promised myself one thing after leaving Islam - that I will NOT turn into an Islam basher.

hmm.. i know that kind..i've got a few friends, who are hijabis during Ramdan, but at other times, they'd like to have their heads bare, thank you very much..oh, they are aware, of the fact that it is obligatory, but they'd prefer wearing it when they are much older, you know, since popularity among others due to dressing sense is quite inevitable right now..(sarcasm intended)...mostly, i don't really care, since it is between themselves and God, but i can't help but feel their actions are a bit, equivocal; hypocritical even, and feel a bit annoyed..

Muslims are humans too. Some are of weaker personality and start drinking in this society to fit in. I am sure that majority of Muslims are more devoted to God and live the way of life Islam teaches.
May Allah guide us and forgive our sins.

The action of this person is not represent Muslims people. His action represent him only. As you mention, alcohol is forbidden in Islam, so your co-worker Disobeys Islam. If he will not turns of his impiety, he will banished by ALLAh ( The God ).

Muslime , Hindu ,christian are just lable's,,, after all everyone is normal human being .... just coz u have some lable u dont become good person or Bad person.....
i dont see any diffrence between people( humans), everyone will die, laff, sin, be loving , caring ....... Human;s will be human's , whatever they lable themself......... just coz they worship so called formless God they dont become Angle's , even thought they read so called true word of God hundred time's , it will not change anything..... they will still sin, be stupid , act foolish ,,,, in short they will be normal human's..... notting spl..... they may consider themself lucky to folllow a perticular religion ,,,, but the fact is they will still remain normal humans.. with Mistake's ....

so every muslime or hindu or christian is only seasonal...... they break the law's.....

That's stupid. If you're muslim then your muslim, if not then not. Pick something and go. If you want to make up something on your own then do that. But dont be hopping back and forth just because you feel like it.

Perfect Happiness: Now and Forever

[41:30] Those who proclaim: "Our Lord is GOD," then lead a righteous life, the angels descend upon them: "You shall have no fear, nor shall you grieve. Rejoice in the good news that Paradise has been reserved for you.

[41:31] "We are your allies in this life, and in the Hereafter. You will have in it anything you wish for; you will have anything you want.

[41:32] "(Such is your) ultimate abode, from a Forgiver, Most Merciful."

As an apostate of Islam, you hate everything and anything related to Islam. You will find hypocrisy in everything because you are looking for it, and where there is no hypocrisy to be found, you will find other faults.

i have no quarrel with anyone who takes what is good from a holy book, as long as he leave what is evil.

i would need to know your co-worker better before making a final judgement on him, but he seems to be reading his koran as if it were a billhook one uses to reach ripe fruit out of reach, not as a flail to scourge one's fellows with.

i wish the inhabitants of khartoum were more of his mind.
