Soul is a word that we use to sum up the whole personality of someone. It isn't something physical. As humans have different personalities to other creature they have different souls. But my cat has more interesting behaviour that some humans I could name!

Every soul is only a reflection of the Divine soul.
If you break a looking glass into 100 pieces , and the sun is shining in sky you can see in all 100 pieces 100 same suns images or reflections.
Similarly all living and non-living beings have one soul only.
Our ignorance (Avidya or Maaya ) makes it difficult to realise it.
That is what I understood.

ALLAH has created ANGELS, ANIMALS, HUMAN BEINGS, JINNS AND MANY OTHER CREATURES MAN KIND MAY OR MAY NOT BE AWARE OF. Out of all this, ALLAH has blown HIS soul into HUMAN BEINGS alone and no other creation of ALLAH enjoys that priviledge. This world was created for human beings. One biggest proof of this is that out of all the creations, it is only mankind which is ruling the planet. That he is misusing it is definetly a cause for worry.

Only humans and Jinns (whom you call Ghosts) have souls and God will judge them for their wrong actions bcoz God gave them free will and also sent Prophets an Divine Revelations for their guidance.
Rest of all creations do not have souls. They live their lives by the instincts God implanted in their brains. They do not deviate from their instincts.

When God created man and woman in His image God imparted a soul to the human beings and this soul is immortal(never cease to exist). This immortality is part of our likeness to the immortal God animals do not share this likeness.

they are different to us in a lot of ways and we are similar in a lot of ways. so it would be likely we are similar but different just like the physical world.
in the animal kingdom there is wide diversity. so they would have divers souls them self's wouldn't they. logically looking at it. thats if we have souls.
